If the devil is the root of all evil, who tempted the devil? If we go through life only once and then judged, why do some people have everything and others have nothing, yet both are judged? How do you judge a rock star with every opportunity to sin and a person with physical, psycological, emotional, and mental handicaps that would prevent them from sinning if they wanted to, equally? Each religion declares they are the only true religion and to believe in any other religion results in not getting to heaven and eternal damnation. How do we know which religion to believe? Do we believe only people of one religion exists in heaven? Why do the jews believe in only half the bible? How do you claim the first few chapters are true in a book (bible)and claim the other chapters are false? How can heaven be perfect for everyone when everyone is so different, even opposite in likes and dislikes? How can we become perfect when we were born imperfect and wired to be imperfect. While you are of the flesh, you are of sin. (bible quote)How much difference is there between the Koran, Bible and Sanskrit? How much is the same but different nationalities used as a reference? If the jews are the chosen people, can the rest of us get into heaven? If Jesus died for my sins 2000 years ago, do I have a free pass to sin? Where is the dividing line between a good person and a bad person? How many bad things can I do and still be considered good? Can I be evil my whole life until my dying breath, then ask Jesus into my heart and be saved? If your name is in the book of lambs, do you have any other choice but to be good? For those not in the book, do they have a chance of being saved? Does a holy man get a better seat at the dinner table in heaven than the rest of us? Do those like James Baker, Jimmy Swaggert and priests who are pediphiles have to give up their seat at the dinner table in heaven? Jesus said,"It is better to put a rock around your neck and thrust yourself off a bridge than harm a child". Does a priest who is a pediphile earn a darker place in hell then a lifetime criminal who is not? Jesus was perfect and was immediately thrust into hell after death. Do we all have to pass through hell to get to heaven? Should we make friends with the underworld just in case we need a favor while passing through hell. A kind word to God in their favor might go a long way! If we do make it to heaven, are we given a house to live in or do we stay out 24/7 partying? cool

Excellent set of questions but don't hold your breath for any logical answers. About the best you can hope for is "God works in mysterious ways."

Truth of the matter is that everyone will believe what they want to about any subject in religion, so I don't think there is only one answer to those questions. It's up to the person answering them.

If I were to believe in a god it would be the oldest known. The Oldest known God I believe is the sun. They were worshiping the sun 8000 years before the god of Abraham was ever heard of. I suggest you should just focus on being the best person you can be and forget the God myth....JMOcomfort

It's never a waste of time to learn more about any subject your interested in. It's self gratification. Doesn't need to have a reward either, knowing more about what your interested in is the reward itself. Wasting time is doing something you don't want to do. cool

Agreed, if ones not learning then that persons not living up to the possibilities. But the trick is look at everything with an open mind and accept truth only when its backed up by the facts......professor

I'm with you Trish, before you follow, question who's leading and where they are leading you to. Spending you precious moments in life making a fraud rich and powerful is no way to spend your time on this earth. If your questions are rebuked rather than answered, it's time to run, not walk out the door. There are too many Jim Jones' in the world. Leaders of big organized religions have also been found to have their own agenda. Sometimes it's not the religion that's evil, just some of those trusted to lead. If you have the same beliefs of an organized religion, but that's not the message your getting from the local leader, it's best to find another leader in the same religion that is within your area. cheers cool

I question the need for leadership at all - if we are all singing from the same song sheet it becomes apparent all too easily if a person isnt working for the good of the group dunno

We all see everyday how power corrupts and I have to wonder how much corruption is involved in any organisation, like religion, which stifles questioning in favour of having blind faith......

The Devil who was one of the Arch Angels....one of the top three was to be over Angel who lived on the Earth Those angel were to learn and manage the Earth growing in knowledge. Lucifer became in himself puffed up with self importance as he traveled the Earth. He begain to sin and disobey God. He then conviced by lies, to sway other Angels to his sinning and selfish thinking. One third of them, those with him on the Earth most likely. He and these rebelled aginst God and tried to acend to God' throne and take it, to become God of all. There was a great war in all creation and Lucifer was defeated and his Angels with him. They are the devil and demons who try to corrupt man and stop God's plans to this very day. There minds are twisted and their ways not rightous. Satan (enemy) created sin and death by sin.....he is a self made bad guy!

Read the Bible, much of what you ask is simple if you will read.

You will not understand, but only ask more about this post with twisted thinking..........you are of your father.

When we love money too much, our greed pulls us away from living a loving lifestyle... pulls us away from the will of God. For example, Jesus was displeased at how the money changers were trying to make a business in the temple and he flipped over their tables. The Bible didn't say whether the money changers were demon possessed if you're thinking that the root of their evil was from the devil. in regards to why the money changers wanted to (den of thieves) rob God's people by saying the people's offerings weren't good enough (they might say "here's a more appropriate offering animal over here that will be acceptable to God", but is overpriced) or to give an outrageous money exchange rate was not good business ethics and Jesus despised such a practice... even more so because it was in the temple.

Many consider Albert Einstein to have been one of the smartest men to ever live. Yet in reading his book "Out of My Later Years", he admitted that he didn't feel he was smarter than anyone else, but that he simply spent more time focusing on the matter at hand. His gift was a long attention span. Another one of his sayings was that "Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds." But it's questionable that you took the time to read anything of length by someone we most all consider quite smart.
