jvaski: I truly respect the service that you may have given to this great country - but it doesn't suggest that your conservative principles are any more important than others who want change for the better....
we have all seen your kinds idea of change for the better...kids being sent home from school for wearing the american flag on their shirts...or being told they cant even draw the flag in art class because its "too controversial"...you can keep the change buddy
texasgirl8585: Personally, I believe all liberals are duped. There is no other explanation for the way they think.
most of it comes through years of indoctrination through the media, the entertainment industry, the educational system...its so bad they actually think they are the freethinkers...when actually most of what they think has been programmed into them...sad really
That's all fine ....except for the part of his suggestion of "divine intervention" with regards to American history. It's no different than the recent and obviously right winged Texas board injecting their conservative historical events and purposely deleting democratic events from history textbooks. Children are our future, and their right to see all the events , good, bad and indifferent - are of the highest importance in their personal development and learning. It is for this reason that NO outside influence by any educational, religious or political entities should ever have the option to manipulate history learning.

starting when? liberals have been doing that forever

You are obviously confused with the difference between dubed and creative. VERY recent History has already proven that conservative principles lead to greed and failure.
PALERIDER66: starting when? liberals have been doing that forever
You can't tell me that your eductational history lessons as a child where purposely swayed towards liberal ideals...can you ? Can you even remember back that far ?

I think that is one of the things that bothers me the most, PALERIDER66. I actually had a great advantage in being subject to the propaganda, intimidation, and coercion techniques of the enemy. It is not difficult to see the same techniques being used today has the left voting block is being secured according to their needs, their passions, and right of behavior.

What's really sad are those who are so jaded by their upbringing that they will fight to the end to preserve status quo and repetative conservative principles that have failed over and over
Even money says the morons trying to rewrite textbooks in Texas would be "offended" by Japanese textbooks (which were rejected and not used) claiming that the US was the violent aggressor and that Japan did not provoke it. It was because of such outrage, both in Japan and by other nations, that the books weren't used.
I'd similarly bet that if all the Native American nations (e.g. Cherkokee, Apache, etc.) wrote textbooks for their schools and referred to white settlers in the US as occupiers, the deaths of millions of Native Americans as holocaust and labelled "reservations" as concentration camps, there would be outrage. (Yet if Native American nations did do that, it would be factually accurate. Only the choice of words would make it controversial, not the content....)
"Revisionism" is a word usually reserved for holocaust deniers, but it's very accurate and very appropriate in this case, since the morons in Texas are doing it for the same reasons, to rewrite history and ignore facts.
Witchaywoman: Did you personally change the text book, then? Pretty amazing feat. When did they make you in charge of choosing the contents of text books?
He just assumed that his statements were what you were commenting on .........
If one wants to argue about an antiquated way of thinking, take a good, hard look at Lords and serfs and see how it is working out in modern day. Each side wants something, but there is always a price to be paid.
The question to ask oneself is this: Is/Was it worth it?
In response to: It's about time the tables were turned on the leftist liberals that have dominated this area for so long!
You can't possibly be serious ???
In another year you'll be telling me the Earth is flat and that Capernicus (earth revolves around the sun not the center of the universe) and Galileo condemned and imprisoned for heresy because of his discoveries with a telescope, that the milky way is made of millions of stars and that there are sun flares and that because of Copernicus, he also believed the Earth revolved around the sun.
Is believing in God permission to remain in forced ignorance of all historic or proven fact? And eliminating Thomas Jefferson in textbooks a sign of REASON? Well we might as well get off the grid and start grazing goats, live in tents and selling our daughters to the highest bidders then, because that's what you are demanding and what Texas is doing is NOT a case of liberalism vs conservatism.... but a blatant return to primative world of portents, shamans and prophets, juju in the name of God of course... instead of informed research.

Shame on you.
What we need is "Obama Youth Camps" .....
It's really the only way we're going to be able to control America in the near future ............

If one wants to talk about this economy go back to Democrats starting with Jimmy Carter insisting that people buy homes that they could never afford and three to four years ago, when annual rate mortgages adjusted up millions of people could no longer afford their homes went into default and foreclosure and this is what precipitated the current economic recession.
Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae continue to be a leech on both the private sector and the government and despite warnings from economists, the "progressives" continue to be in denial and refuse to reform this institution.
In addition, two years into the current regime do you still have to go back and play the Bush card?
Fact is, *ALL* politicians suck swamp water and ruin lives whether intentionally or not in the process, no matter who is in office. Folks lose jobs, belt tightening occurs and pain runs rampant. There are no winners.

It's perfectly clear to many of us that 8 years of Bush and Cheney caused the majority of the wreckage we're stepping through right now. It further enhances many of us to continually clarify our position that we're not going to let the ignorance and arrogance prevail
