gininitaly: The point being Texasgirl... is that I believe the teaparty-ites for the most part are trying to blame Obama for everything that's gone wrong since Jesus died on the cross . When basically I think his major crime has been to be a Democrat and black.
Obama is no messiah... he was just a hopeful alternative option to the Bush years of graft, greed and global manipulation. If you don't grasp that... it's not my fault. The reality is... whoever gets elected in this country is beholding to someone and that once they get to Washington, no one comes through clean and unscathed.
No, the tea partiers are just blaming Obama for what he's responsible for -- spending us, and our grandkids, into oblivion, far worse than Bush ever thought of, trying to take over everything, making us less safe, for starters.
His color has nothing to do with it. I know race is a tactic liberals use.
Obama was an alternative to Bush. It's probably a good thing he got elected, because now people are waking up. Had McCain been elected, this wouldn't have happened.
Textbooks are continuously edited and re-edited and have been since the industry first started. You might be interested to learn that California, Texas and Florida have always been the most influential in terms of content. It has alot to do with different states, their buying power, and also how some states give individual rights for schools to purchase what they want.
Why not take a minute to familiarize yourself with the problem before trying to solve it?
texasgirl8585: No real tea partiers said these things. Whoever did was probably a liberal plant!
Tho the first one is probably true of true radical leftists, as is seen by what they do and want to do.
And the third one -- tho you may not pay higher taxes right now, just wait!!!! And just wait til your kids and grandkids and probably great grandkids get their bill handed to them!!!! For a lifetime.
jvaski: I just wrote the Texas board memebers .....with the help of one of them ( D ) ......here's what I said;
Dear Members of the Board,
I wish to voice my opinion regarding your recent proposed amendments to children’s textbooks.
Your decisions to alter history towards a conservative view in children’s textbooks has struck a deep chord within many Americans – especially at a time when this country suffers deep division both politically and morally. This decision serves to further enhance this division.
It is absolutely absurd that a committee whom the public trusts to make impartial decisions for the future of our children – instead takes pleasure in purposely altering children’s learning to skew them politically. Your proposed changes are both unethical and immoral at best !
I have suggested to your commissioner that he find an independent review committee to review your history alterations and amend them to provide ALL aspects of historical events. This will allow our children to read America’s unbiased history and fashion their beliefs without your political and unethical influence.
Furthermore, I will hope to soon read that some of you have been disciplined or removed from your service as educational board members for this assassination of the public’s trust.
Very Sincerely,
John
It is well written, John. I commend the effort. And it does not have any emoticons....which I am sure the Texas Board Members will appreciate.
But the last paragraph......disciplined by who? or removed for what caused? by who? Maybe the governor of Texas will use a ruler on the back of the knuckles. But 'assignation of public trust'..... it does have a very negative ring to it.
