FlyMo: I would like advice seen as i am worried about my mate, hes very sensitive for a fella, a bit too nice if ya know what i mean, i`m the sort who would say F it if anything happened he would let it take over him and and make it feel like it was his problem

i think advice has been given that he may be depressed already, seems to have the signs, so encourage him to go see his gp, or ring a depression support group

Godsgift: What do you know about suicide? There's a few of us on here know more about it than we would like to and not out of choice! As for moronic value, well you have consistantly performed above our greatest expectations. Well done.

Unfortunately I also know more about it than I'd like to and it's not the case that people who talk about it never end up doing it.

Be careful, it might not be.
You could gently encourage him to talk to a professional.

maybe im wrong,,,but i think he may of been looking for some advice???
but if ye wanna talk about rubarb,,,,off ye go,,
it wouldn't be the first thread hi-jacked by mister spidey sense
do i detect a bitter tone there my furry friend dunno
i was just giving the op some advice
im into alternative cures and rhubarb has chemicals that release endorphins in the brain that make homo sapiens feel happy,
dont knock the rhubarb till youve tried it,
as i said rhubarb along with a healthy diet and plenty of exercise is the best cure for depressionteddybear

Good advice thumbs up

Oh as for rhubarb curing depression, sounds like an old wives tale to me. No offence here but i think the only people qualified to talk about depression are those who suffer from it...JMO.

FlyMo: lookit I gave my opinion and you practically cut me in half because i contradicted you like is it that bad

when you have or know someone who has suffered with depression, (remember you thought he was attention seeking) come talk to me then and we can have an actual conversation about it....

if i decided to cut you in half love, you would know.

I aint that type of girl.

FlyMo: If thats not morbid then I dont know what is

seriously though I alive and I think that anybody else alive should live and forget about death ffs is it so much to ask

Look,
I'm sorry if I offended you by calling you a bad friend but when you said the above, it irked me. He's obviously going through some stuff and you're complaining cause he's not thinking the same way you do. You're 2 seperate people. I've been through it myself. Stuff I'm not going to go into on a public forum but not only have I lived through it, I kow a few who haven't.
Attention seeking or not, It's nothing to be taken lightly. If I can suggest you talk to him, even if it IS just about death. Remind him that the hardest thing bout suicide is what you're doing to he people he leaves behind who would care and try to make him relise that YOU are one of those people.
My advice anyway, you can take it or leave it

Ok... I've read this whole thread. Why do ppl deny that depression exists? It does. Live with it and help your friends and family to cope.

Depression is not something for which there is a magic cure. Don't even try to argue with me on this one, it's something that I have suffered with for more than half my life.

The friend that the OP is speaking of for sure sounds to me like he is depressed in some measure. That is my non-professional opinion.

People that are suffering from depression do so in many ways. The OP's friend appears to see comfort in death and so be it. So did I. It was something that I craved to experience for a long time.

The day to day life while living with depression is not easy. I could see no possible happy future. In no way could I see myself being here past 25 yrs old, that was when I was really bad and wished not to be here at all. But I am here. There is help out there whether by councelling or by medication or with both

I am medicated. It works for me. It may not work for another.

Councelling can work too, but only if the patient and the professional build up a trust and means of communication. Without that they are both wasting time.

To the OP: Listen to your friend. Do NOT lecture, but steer him towards help if you can. You (and his other friends) are his sounding boards. A big job, but well worth the results. Good luck to you both.
