Its only the first game and they are already being written out of it ? it will take time to build up confidence in the team but I think the likes of scott parker should be there , He had a great season for west ham.
JT has brought trouble to the team by having an affair with WB girlfriend and that might have affected moral as WB has friends in the camp playing with JT

I agree well partly anyway. It is only the first game so I don't think Capello is panicking just yet. Now if I was the Australian coach, i might be panicking but as badly as they played, England only conceded one goal and got a draw. Sometimes its good if a team doesn't peak too early anyway. I think Parker probably should have been picked but he wasn't so no point talking about what ifs just yet. There is everthing for England still to play for. They would want to play A LOT better against Algeria though.
I think the JT affair controversy is old news at this stage. As wrong as it was, the team will have been told they have to put it behind them for the good of the team. If they are going to progress, they will all need to be on the same page and my guess is that they all have one common aim (to win) so will need to put any animosites to one side.

Gerrard, Terry, Lampard, Rooney etc have years of winning at the highest level. They have the belief. That is the one thing that they in no way lack. Years of being told that they are the best players in the best league in the world should give them belief. They actually have way too much belief in their ability. Their chronic lack of technique and ability to dictate a game is a far bigger problem.
That being said, plenty of teams have been rubbish in the group stages and won a tournament. But I would be amazed if this English team won. It would not be in the best interests of football either.
