Ah I had a Zen and thought it was awesome. The Iphone is pretty amazing though and next time I have an extra bit of cash I'll definitely be putting it towards a purchase of one. Anyone that has one, seems to love it. My only query would be about battery life.

All the touch screen models have a bit of an issue with battery power. Fot loundness, I'd go with the Zen but I got my first ipod a few years ago and wouldn't go back now. Love the classic ipod with 120gb. Only got this one last Nov and can't get over the 1/4 way mark with music so plenty of room for movies etc. Battery life is excellent on it. The movies can be kinda draining but I only have to charge mine every week or so if I'm just listening to music.
Ipod is over priced plus you can have issues if your music is not coming from Itunes , my first mp3 player was a zen and it will be my next I have a philips at the moment which is crap for starting up , I have had one or two other brands (cheap offers from argos) and i have to say the zen is still the bes i have had

I love the Zen too but this is the second time I've had trouble trying to recharge it when battery power goes too low. Can't revive it this time.

I've never had any issues with music not from iTunes. In fact I have about 40gb of music on mine and only 1 song is from iTunes. All the rest is from CD's or other sites. I do agree that Zen is good though. Guess it's just what you're used to. If someone handed me a zen I'd probably think it was crap now cause I couldn't work it properly.

Actually just thought of another good thing about ipods. The customer service is excellent. Once you register it, they have everything on file. I had a problem with my first one. They arranged a courier to come to me, collect it and then sent a courier back out with a new one 2 days later. No trouble at all with their staff or getting through to them. I'd recommend them to anyone just for that. My first was Zen, and it kept crashing. Used the reset button so many times in broke. Then I dropped it down 3 flights of stone stairs and it STILL didn't work. Disgracefull. This was about 10 years ago though so their firmware may be better now.

Sweet sound from the Sony MP3 players, but cannot delete on the trot, have to go back to a computer to erase that song that you now hate! Ipods tried to dominate my computer. hope this helps 7
have more stuff that I could put on it but not enough room .
You can buy new batteries for ipods cheap and its easy to change the battery apparentley Ive never done it but have my friends old ipod here and was considering changing the battery
not too sure about the zen but if its just the battery it shouldnt be too difficult to change it
I have had my ipod for the last two years and i love it have never had a problem with it and the battery is great in it, i wouldnt change it for anything
im using an Archos 5 internet tablet...its a bit of a "brick", but its 5" touch screen is the business...its the old 120 gig model running opera... the new 160 runs android and is a much improved model...build quality like a mercedes benz... if its to much to lug around try the sanasa view 32 gig, 2" screen, its put out to to rival the i pod, which it does very well, 32 gig flash memory, drop it, knock it about, no worries, no hard drive...and sansa pretty much wrote the book on flash memory, also check the reviews...best value in its class... i have both and i still have my trusty zen micro (pearl white) from 2005, still working, just not enough capacity (5 gig)...it has a replacable battery which is becomming harder to find with new players... finally, choose good ear phones...im using koss "spark plugs" and sennheiser cs 500's...great sound from both... hope that helps...Lard...
