Just looking at the news and see all this commotion going on in mosney with asylum seekers refusing to be moved on to new homes,
In my opinion these people do not have the right to have a choice if they stay or go, think about it they are seeking asylum here and won`t cooperate with the authorities so they should be shipped off back to whatever country they came from, we don`t need this hassle, they have been put up there for years, given money ever week, Fed every day for NOTHING and this is the thanks they give our country....
If i had my way they would be rounded up and put into a giant rowing boat and make them row back to their own country and out of our way, this rowing would probably kill most of them seeing as they havent worked in yearsgrin

They are not allowed work. Many would like to.

An adult asylum seeker gets €19.10 per week. Yes ... that is nineteen. Hardly raking it in.

I would hate to be as angry as you are.

There are far more native spongers than there ever will be asylum seekers. Unfortunately, I have a job that involves me working with the native spongers ... and they would resurrect their dead grannies if they could get extra social welfare out of it.

I am firm believer that people in glasshouses shouldn't throw stones.

They are called "asylum seekers" for a reason. They did not come here for a nice holiday and a free ride. Many of them would prefer to work but don't have the choice.
I have been to Mosney and visited the families there. It's not a holiday camp anymore although they are treated very well and looked after. It's a human right to be able to feel safe and I don't deny them or anyone else the right to this.
I just hope that nothing bad ever happens to you or a member of your family and that they have to go through the same pain as most of these people.
There a name for people like you. It begins with race and well, I'm sure you can work out what it ends with...........

these people have no homes..do you have any idea where even one person from this 'camp' has come from or what they have been through to arrive in such a place? have you ever looked into the eyes of a human that is dying or persecuted to the point of desperation? these people are not from gorta/concern land. it's very nice that you can sit at your pc and judge people from the comfort of your nice safe home in a country where you have the luxury to vote your leaders in and out of positions of power.
it's also convenient for you that none of them are members of this site and cannot speak for themselves.
if you don't like what i just wrote, ask yourself why? did it make you feel uncomfortable or happy that you upset people by writing it?

BentLid: My beef with these people is how ungrateful they are, You give them an inch and they take a mile, My problem has nothing to do with Race/ ethnicity

How do you know they are ungrateful? Have you spoken to any?

Imagine that you had to flee Ireland because of persecution and genocide and you ended up in another country ... alone, unable to speak the language and severely traumatised .... only for people in that country to be hostile to you and begrudge you food and shelter and the paltry sum of €19.10 per week.

from 1816 to 1847...
2 million had left ireland for Great Britain, Canada, and the United States.

An estimated total of 36,278,332 Americans — over 12% of the total population and 20% of the white population - reported Irish ancestry in 2008. do you want them all back here so?

for more info on this subject and see how irish people were treated
