venusenvy: Good morning Sass( and the lucky guy who gets to keep her company) Im sipping my coffee reading the forums (feeling sorry for the men) Its freeeeeeezing cold rain outside . My youngest chickadee started University today ( kinda makes me want to cry and bust my bottons) Im wondering why my kids want to live in this cold gizzly place, and at this moment Im missing the Mexican sunshine
Hi V We are both lucky hun My goodness girl, where are you if it is that darn cold I remember when my youngest sprouted his wings and I was alone, but so very proud of all 4 of my kids and the life decisions they are still making. A very warm day here in Nebraska, but leaves are starting to turn and fall is on the way.

Gosh I raised 4 as well Sass...my 2 daughters and also my 2 nieces for most of the time. maybe Im emotional but yesterday I went with my oldest to the bridal show...and this morning I kissed my youngest goodbye as she went out the door for her 1st day of Uni... Im so proud of them but at the same time it feels like my mothers heart is cracked...they are truly grown up now...sigh (this is kinda how I feel about it)
venusenvy: Stouffville??? gosh I used to shop at the famers market all the time...I miss it! Im in Calgary and its dread Eeeeeee
Well no wonder you are cold...Calgary brrrrrr. Hopefully that weather isn't heading our way any time soon. You wouldn't recognize the farmer's market now, it is more like a yard sale and flea market than a market. They do have a market downtown on thursday nights and there is still some produce available at the old market but nothing like you remember. We have double if not tripled our population in the last two years (we've been discovered ).

Do the Mennonites still bring thier wares to sell?...My chickadees grew up on it. I used to love to ride my bike at 2-3 in the morning in the misty stillness. I have wonderful memories of Stouffville.

Unfortunately they no longer sell there but they have been selling their beautiful furniture through Brice's on Hwy 48 north of Mount Albert for some years now. It is still a nice little town but a lot bigger than you knew (we have a huge Walmart, the biggest in the world when it was built a few years ago) and there are large stores vacant in the downtown area due to relocating to the new big box store area around Walmart.

As long as they keep in touch and remember how much we love and miss them, then it isn't quite as bad.
Here is a hug for you to help you get through the day with a cup of Sassy's famous coffee to give you a little lift

Well Newmarket hasn't changed much, just some more box stores at Green Lane and Yonge St. but Aurora is huge now and unfortunately Stouffville is headed in the same direction. There is still a lot of farm land here but it is being gobbled up by the developers. Off to work, have a terrific day.
amahlala: It is a gorgeous day in my neck of the woods and I finally jumped the hurdle and applied for college....if everything goes right, I start on 10/04.
