I think it's obviously hard but it depends on the situation.
I don't know what you expect people to say. If you are never going to physically be with someone, then there is nothing to say that will make you be with someone.
If you can't have something romanticizing about it, or making it into this magical thing may be fun and make you feel good but it's not healthy. It's like me obsessing with playing in the NBA when I can't. You let it go and move on with whats real.
If it's a close friend, tell them how you feel and if you can't or he wont be with you, then you have to let it go.
You didn't give the whole vibe so it's hard to tell for sure. Hang in there.

I am not quite sure what you mean here L. Did you meet him on line? Have you been chatting for awhile? Is he married? Or is he someone that is so very far away?You know L. if it is the distance that is keeping you apart and he feels the same way about you then you figure out someway to be together. I know your situation right now with your daughter but hopefully for the first meet he could come to you.
