Not again!!! Is there anything you don't blame the government on? We had a referendum and we the people decided to accept the current arrangements. We have the right to work in Poland too. If Polish people do not want to employ us that is not the fault of the Polish government either...

Your quite a lover of the government!!

A mate of mine is a self-employed carpenter who has run out of business. He gets no benefits.

Yet next door to him are a family of Poles and the Polish chap told him that their total income per week through benefits, childrens allowance etc etc are in excess of 1,000 quid.

But lets not blame the government for that either, it was the boogie-man that caused the problem. comfort

And Irish people dont claim benefits???doh
I know Irish people who never worked a day in their lives, they are the real problem not the Polish professor
In my estate 8 polish people lived in a 3 bedroon house, they claimed no benefits and rented, Thats how they made their money in the boom years

Because the Irishman is self employed, your entitled to no benefits if you are self employed as far as I know, maybe I can be corrected on that
dunno

mister mcayisncz and his family probably worked hard and paid taxes like every other working person did, They lost their jobs now they are getting what they are entitled to simple as,
Its no different than cashing in on an insurance policy

jmo:people had no problems with any nationality doing jobs in this country up to a few years ago we all plenty of work to go around now that their low economy people are just finding it hard to get work!
been honest if i had to get a job done on my house and I think everyone is just watching the money and an Irish man quoted me €10 a hour and his labour included and his fee was higher and another lad quoted me €7 an hour and his labour and fee was lower on top of that id go for the cheaper person hoping that job was done well!i would say their 80% good workers out their and their 20%are probably cowboys

So you wouldnt ask for references and you wouldnt look to see previous work done by the client? You just take the cheapest?

Try understanding something before attempting to pontificate on it. Certain decisions are taken by governments, others by the people. Personally I think that governments made some terrible policy decisions over the past 10 years but they cannot be blamed for some of the things that you have tried to land at their doorstep.

There are flaws in the social welfare system alright, the problem is that it would cost more to chase the fraudsters down than would be saved by the exercise.

I have also been out of work and surviving on 196 a week and paying maintenance and I would have loved to find a loophole. As regards your mate i'm sure that he, like all self employed people, was aware that he would not be entitled to state benefits and had made suitable arrangements savingswise for the bad days?

Hes self employed, thats the risk a self employed person takes if work dries up, nothing got to do with his nationality whether he be a pacific islander or a peruvian inca same thing applies for all
