chris27292729: What the Swiss referendum about minarets not to be build.

Ahhhhh here is this South African living in Switzerland as an honoured guest of the Swiss government and I am called on, once again, to explain to the EU .......Why the Swiss do not want to build Minarets.....!

Well, if you ever visit Switzerland, if your bank account allows you that privelege ... you will see that there are enough minarets in Switzerland to satisfy everybody!

Everywhere you go you see minarets.

Why ... just the other day, walking out iin the farmlands ... THERE was a minaret! Sitting all lonely and ignored .... in the middle of a tiny little village!

All it needed was a .. what you call that guy?.... the one who stands in it and calls all the people to prayers? .... Well he could ... if he was calling in the hours allowed for noise.

If you make a noise anywhere before 7am, and between 12 and 1pm, and after 7pm on weekdays the Polizei will arrive and give you a big fine. And on weekends you allowed to make a noise until midnite on Saturday. And Sundays ALL noise is verboten! Sundays are just lovely silence, so you can sleep in peace till you feel like getting up and quietly eating some Bürchermuesli. And you can weed your garden, if you do it real quietly.

Switzerland is a VERY tiny land. All extraneous buildings need a VERY good excuse to be built.

Even when you drive you have to pull up RIGHT BEHIND the next car at a traffic light or else you are wasting space! The reason the roads are SO narrow! They designed for one car! ... but two can just squeeze past each other!.. if they are really careful!

chris27292729: Is this freedom of religion, or restriction?????
Nein, darl, it is called "utilization of all available space". Switzerland, if you look at a map ... is a VERY tiny country! AND it takes in the MOST asylum seekers out of all the EU countries ... pro rata.

What Building has to do with the Freedom to worship?doh Here is one of the reasons why the Vote went the way it did!

Democracy is only the Train, which we ride to our Destination; The Mosques are our Barracks; The Minarets our Bayonets; The Domes our Helmets; The Believers our Soldiers!was quoted by Erdogan of Turkey some time ago!

Oh wow ... I am growing old! I keep having to repeat myself!

Ok, now listen everyone, and I shall tell you WHY minarets are important to Muslim worship places.......

In the olden days, out in the deserts of Saudi and those other places in deserts where Islam was begun ....... the usual,(just like any village)place of centre was the Place of Worship.

And around the place of Worship was the mud and sand houses and camels, and Palm trees, and water ......and travellers.....

So the Mosque (place of worship) would get very hot with all those people breathing in a confined space at prayer times (5 times a day).

And so the Immam(Priest) invented a tower, and hung wet sheets in tower, so hot air passing thru would get cooled down thru wet sheets.

And the tower was a handy place for him to hang out and call everyone to prayer .. cause only priests knew the time for prayer .. holy men, ya know? they owned the only watch in town.....

And by the time the rabble gathered for prayer ... the mosque was cool ... from the wet sheets.....

And so the Tradition of having a Minaret was born.

Like Christians have a Clock Tower on their churches? ... They had an Immam who called, instead of ringing bells ....

Christians still have ringing bells. The Muslims Minarets still have a Caller. Except he has forgotten WHY he has a Minaret ...... them wet sheets to cool down the place for the crowd! Nowadays they have Air-Conditioning.

So ... it is just Traditional. Not serious.

Now the psyche pastor seems like he can hear our cry although he still want get the attention of the world and he is turning the focus to something else. However, two things we have keep in mind, A- the Christian media were busying on talking on “what if this goes live on the camera” what will be the reaction then? so the guy can still do it out of the camera. B- Mr Obama still telling the world that on this issue he only worry for the American soldiers.

Yes, I agree, again.

The Media. Haaa! Everyone is taught to think ...by the media ... TV, newspapers, radio, etc......

In South Africa, we were brainwashed by the old government .... we believed what they said. And later...? .... Yeah, I found, for instance, that Rev.Desmond Tutu was not a "bad" person.

Even Nelson Mandela .. can you believe it?... He was supposed to be a "bad" person!

It is IMPOSSIBLE for a politician to remain true to their words ... they enjoy the money too much!

Wars are fought for GAIN. Poopsegal about the men doing the fighting.
