I've received very few emails that are NOT from scammers. This site seems to draw them in for some reason. Local threads are complete dead here. But the international forums rock!

If you decide to jump into the international forums, you'll find a lot of genuine people from all over the world which is pretty cool, but I would set my filters to block certain countries that are notorious for scammers, Nigeria for one, I would also block Russia, the rest you can decide for yourself, although some scammers will still find a way through, after a while you will know what to look for, then just block and delete them. No matter what social networking site you go on (and CS is by far one of the better ones around), you will always find people of dubious character operating.
Real people are here, you just have to spend time looking for what you want, and hopefully you will achieve what you have set out to do. The forums is a good place to interact with people.
If you receive any dubious email that even if you are unsure about, just report it to the Moderators of this site. Block, delete and report, as they say. It does help, as it is one of the ways to prevent these rip off merchants sinking their teeth into you.
There are also lots of tips and pointers here that people can give you with regards to these fleece merchants.
