just wonderin has anyone been on a J1 in america before? its my final year in college and im thinkin bout headin over next summer for a few mths....tryin to research it at the mo cuz i wanna start savin...ne helps or tips wud be great, especially bout money, places to go etc

Whats a J1??
Its a great place and very vast - so it really depends on where your starting off point would be! NY, Miami and California seem to be the most popular with 'tourists' - but so many other states/cities are great aswell - and quite undiscovered on the tourist path - I'm originally from NY myself - so think I have to suggest that personally! hehe - but as I said there's alot of great places there to get yourself to!

J1 is a visa for the US for students only, to go work for the summer months.
To the Op...do it! It'll be some of the best times of your life! San Diego was popular when i did it many moons ago, but I went to Long Island, NY. Best summers i ever had! Check out they should be able to give you any info you need

It's not only for students. I had a J1 when I was working in the States as a climbing instructor in 2001.
