I'm going to start with some of his lesser known ballads. Johnny Ace was a master of the ballad. His tone and timing were just perfect.

Cross My Heart: Johnny is also playing the organ on this song.

Anymore:

The Clock: The horns almost sound like they're crying.

Did you enjoy my songs?
Follow along and I'll show you how to do it.

1, open a new blank tab and switch to the new tab.
2, In the address bar type youtube.com enter.
3, There will be a search box right next to the youtube logo. type in the name of a song or artist such as Ellington enter. You will be presented with a whole bunch of videos by the Duke. At the bottom of the page there will be page numbers where you can browse oage after page til you find what you want. All you have to do is click on any video and it will load and start playing. If you want to grab a song to put it on here,
4, While the song is playing or after it's done go up to the top to the windows address bar and copy the whole link.
5, switch back to the CS tab and paste the link into the thread post and that's it. Hit post reply and it will be there. Like this.

Play these two songs in the order presented. The first is by David Allan Coe with a little story from his memory.

Now for the man himself doing one of the best songs ever recorded.

Did you enjoy the songs? I think you must have heard Pledging my Love it's been covered by so many people. Johnny Ace killed himself playing Russian Roulette back in the mid 50's he was on the verge of greatness. One can only wonder what a long wonderful career he would have had.
