Muslims who want to live under Islamic Sharia law were told on Wednesday to get out of Australia, as the government targeted radicals in a bid to head off potential terror attacks..

Separately, Rudd angered some Australian Muslims on Wednesday by saying he supported spy agencies monitoring the nation's mosques. Quote:


"IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT.. Take It Or Leave It. I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Bali, we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Australians."

'We speak mainly ENGLISH, not Spanish, Lebanese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society, learn the language!'

This is not some Christian, right wing, political push, but a fact, because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools. Did Rudd actually say this? Wow. Fair play to him. That's my kind of speech!

Merkel last week, Rudd this week. They seem to be taking a very tough stance. I can understand the Australians saying it as they are not signed up to any multi nation union/alliance or whatever you'd like to call it but the EU issue is a bit different since we have all really signed up to multiculturalism. I wonder how the aboriginal population would respond to his comments?

Wise man. He's now the minister for foreign affairs. He resigned as prime minister in June. The thing i always found funny about him is that while on a a visit to New York as opposition foreign affairs spokesman, he visited a strip club along with a colleague. In his defence, he told the media "I had had too much to drink, I have no recollection of any incident occurring at the nightclub – or of being asked to leave". "It is our recollection that we left within about an hour". The incident generated a lot of media coverage, but made no impact on Rudd's popularity in the polls. Indeed, some people believe that the incident may have enabled Rudd to appear "more human" and lifted his popularity.

That would never happen here with Brian Cowen

At least it wouldn't cost the taxpayer anything though
