Mindy was a Boxer/Collie mix. In the summer, I'd fall asleep under a tree in the back yard, using her as a pillow. In the winter, I'd fall asleep in front of the fireplace, using her as a pillow. When I had a bad day, I'd wrap my arms around her neck and cry. She'd lick my face and make everything all better. We shared ice cream cones. We went swimming together. She'd eat the things off my dinner plate that I didn't like (I'd sneak them under the table to her). She showed me that animals would always be my best friends.

She was a collie/Shepard mix named Lady. One day she gently grabbed my arm and dragged me back into the yard when I got too close to the road when I was around 4 or 5 years old. Found her one day laying in the boat shed in the backyard. I thought she was sleeping but she had died from a neighbor putting poison in her food dish
Yes, I do as a matter of fact. He was a very very oversized German Shepard....very intimidating, but the friendliest creature you'd know...I remember he once got loose and the police picked him up and they actually put him in a holding cell...Cop said if noone picked him up, he was going to keep him.
Bound for a labrotory (so said the owner), bought for a dollar, and the absolute best dog I ever had...Bruno, I miss you
ohhh..mine was a black, short-haired dachshund named Bluff...
he had a twisted, great personality....
when he was getting a bone to play with it, he was used to hide it on purpose in some place and then wait for the "victim" to pass nearby...
once i had to put a duvet on my friend (well, we were both 13 yrs old then) to make her pass near him while he was having one of his "bone moments"...and she put her feet on the furniture avoinding to arrive to the ground...i still have an immage of that situation...
My first dog was named MikeyDog he was part sheltie and terrier mix.
I must've been around 10 yrs old at the time.I can recall playing with him in the yard and pretty much do to him what the kid in the film did and MikeyDog could care less.
Then one night while going outside to do his business he got hit by a car as he was crossing over to the other side to go to that church yard and the driver of that car didn't stop and kept going.
You see MikeyDog loved to go over to a church yard across the street from our home to do his nightly business and then he'd come back home and bark to come back inside.
The night he was hit was the last time I ever saw him alive. There was nothing I could do but stand there and watch him get hit.I went out in the street and kneeled down beside him and held him in my arms all the time crying saying MikeyDog it'll be ok.Well he died in my arms and just before he closed his eyes he had this look on his face as if he was saying it's ok I just need to go to sleep now. That tore me up and as my mom came outside and was carrying him back to our place I asked my mom will I ever see my Mikeydog again and she replied back to me yes you will someday.I never wanted another dog for along time casue I'd lost my buddy and my best friend.
