Milking the unemployment benefits, happens in all countries.-The point is how you make those people PAY for the unemployment benefit.-Simple really, make the unemployed to work, for the government, municipality, county, welfare, etc, for the equivalent of their benefits pay cheque.-
johnaustin123: Good post ooby_dooby

I only disagree in the fact that Government control has never worked in History. Some do call it Socialism or Communism.

I do agree with some points because I am Libertarian, "The Gov maintains a military but only for defense". Yes!

Here is a question for you? Do you think that unemployment benefits should be extended again?

I know that times are tough, but if we extend unemployment again, most people will milk it and not try hard to find a job.

There is no Utopia. Millionaires have already proven themselves, and they would do it again if need be. They have no will to support people that won't do for themselves.

ooby_dooby: I'm coming to the feeling that true communism has never really been tried. All the examples we have, have been brutal dictatorships. Also they have been structured with a hierarcy which was rigidly top down. My idea is to have independantly owned and run companies that are allowed to run themselves the best way possible not having all decisions coming from one central body the way the USSR was run. That merely stifles creativity and incentive.

Unemployment: Yes but at a lower dollar amount which would incentify people to get out and do something. We shouldn't simply cut people off but instead have a sliding scale of benefits. I'll let you in on a little secret, not everybody drawing unemployment checks is unemployed. It's known as "off the books" I did it myself decades ago. Got paid in cash and it was understood I had to go to the unemployment office on a reg basis to check in. It was good for where I worked because they got me for very low wages. But combined with unemployment checks I made out pretty good. I think the majority of unemployed would much rather be working than collecting checks.
What makes you believe that "True" Communism can be implemented by any other means than Brute Force?

So you say. I have asked you many times to show us what your difficulties with my posts were but you were unable to post a quote showing why so can only surmise you are just spewing idiocy. However, take you small moment of common sense and run back to the moron cave and wave it about as a trophy.

And no,I didn't forget about that Denmark cut. In fact, I didn't even know about it and wonder, what on earth does it have to do with anything?confused

Back to the subject at hand.....

If we are already spending 46.5% of our tax dollars to support the military and military actions, not counting the trillions that we are in debt because of unprovoked actions.

Of course it wouldn't be a stretch to think some of that money could actually be spent on the overall welfare of the American people. roll eyes

But as far as I can see... there are a lot of power brokers who want quite the contrary and have invested a whole lot of money and energy in creating fear, panic and misinformation in the American people for profit and power.

What you suggest has grand merit Ooby, unfortunately we don't live in ethical or moral times. Our 'government' does not exist, we are ruled by powerful game players, money makers, their lobbyists for the sole purpose of having more money and control of the world.

The concept of CHOICE has been steadily eliminated in the last 30-40 years... sorry. sad flower

g1ants1980: No denying certain areas of our system are brokem but this is sooo close to communism. The thing that makes America is greed. To quote Gordon Gecko...."greed is good."It's the thing that motivates people to work hard, it gives us something to aspire to. Great effort but ideaologically I cant agree.

yep... one of the basic ideology was. work as much as you can and take as much as you really need...and the greed in humans is just unmeasurable...laugh
