Hey guys,

just wondering have any of you ever had this. i woke up on sunday morning looking like something outta star trek laugh my face was all drooped down one side. i was afraid i was after having a mini stroke at first but when i had full power in my limbs i knew then that i hadnt.

was in hospital the last few days and it has been diagnosed as bells palsy. its temporary paralysis of one side of the face. In alot of cases it is fully cured but in a small percentage it doesnt heal back completely.

i guess what im wondering is, if any of ye have had it how long did it take for it to cure for you? i have a letter from my doctor to stay off work for a month but im really hoping its not that long before im cured or ill be pulling the hair outta my head with boredom. i havent blinked my right eye in 4 days. its pretty scary and the right side of my mouth wont move at all. i read that it can be cured anytime between 24 hours and a couple of months.

ill be holding off on looking for a date for the time being i think rolling on the floor laughing

My mother had it years and years ago. She was in hospital for 2 nights. It took about 2 weeks to go.

One of here eyes was always a little prone to tears afterwards. Other than that she had no lasting effects.

Hope your clears up quickly Flick.

Good luck and i hope it is all sorted for the xmas party season for you.thumbs up

Hey flicks,

my sister got it week before she gave birth, and now its like 8 months later and she still has only 75 % back, I dont say that to frighten you, but to make you aware that it may take a while love.

You will have to get physio, and my advice is keep exercising your facial muscles, make sure and keep eye covered for the first few days.

It can be a derivative of the cold sore virus. So people prone to this viral infection can be prone to this.

There is nothing to do to speed up recoverey, that saying applies love, TIME is the healer.

It will take time, depends on severity of the illness.teddybear teddybear teddybear

You poor thing x

My mother got it and recovered fine, only tiny little droop in her eye, you wouldn't notice. A friend got it when a child and fully recovered too. I think there are excercises you can do too to strengthen the muscles. Here's to a quick recovery heart wings
