Wow...........what a season.........Where do I start confused

Tevez ? Rooney ? Liverpool ? Chelsea ???? Blackpool doh Spurs ????

To be honest at the start of the season I honestly thought it was going to be between Chelsea and Man City for the title. I think there is too much in fighting at City for them to win it this year. And what about Tevez ? I reckon a deal was done for him to leave for Spain this summer.
Chelsea have really surprised me and the sacking of Ray Wilkins has coincided with their worst run of form in recent memory. Coincidence ? I dont think so. I do think they will turn it around though (not tonight I hope) laugh

Van der Vaart has to be the signing of the season applause and as for Blackpool, I thought they were certainties to go back down.......Shows you how much I know doh Love Holloway, he is like a breath of fresh air.

Am not sure Hodgson is the man for Liverpool, although the takeover seems to have settled them down. The new owners track record is good and possibly they will wait for the summer to make sweeping changes. Am not sure how much they will invest but a new stadium has to be a priority for Liverpool to compete.

Man Utd, while not playing well are top and deservedly so. They still have a search party out for Rooney though doh. And Arsenal are still flattering to deceive. They have had injury problems again to their best players i.e. Van Persie and Fabregas, but they are still in with a shout.

So whats your predictions for the rest of the season

My top 5 and bottom 3 are as follows

1. Arsenal (just because I can laugh )
2. Man Utd
3. Chelsea
4. Man City
5. Spurs

Relegated, Wolves, West Ham and Wigan.

Next Manager to be sacked Mick McCarthy ot Mark Hughes.

I thought Wolves defeat yesterday was massive as their next four fixtures are extremely tough. Cant remember exactly who now ?
Personally I would like to see Wolves stay up.

Chelsea out of the top four........Thats a big shout.

Does anyone here think that Rooney will leave at the end of this season? I know he signed a new contract but I think it was so Man U can get a bundle when they sell him. He's not half the player he was last year. I'm not a really big fan of football but I suspect there is money to be made here. It has been an interesting season so far and the usual suspects will be fighting it out at the end of the season.

I think your top 5 are right Vinny except that I (unfortunately) would swap United and Arsenal. We (Liverpool) will come 6th.

As for relegation, I think you are right. The 3 Ws to be relegated.

Vinny, I thought it was going to be Chelsea and United fighting for the title at the start of the season and i still think they will be fighting for the title towards the end of the season. As with Chelsea a few years ago when Abramovich took over, teams need time to gel. Man City seem to having that problem at the moment. They are not consistent enough. As for Tevez, i doubt he will stay longer than a year. He doesn't seem to be the type of player that stays at any one club for too long. Funny how he wanted to be nearer his family and there was talk about him going back to Argentina. Then there was talk of him going to Spain and now he is staying in England. Call me cynical but i think he will go where the most money is.

No doubt the sacking of Wilkins has unsettled Chelsea along with a few injuries along the way. I heard Lampard starts tonight so their form could change. I do think though that Abramovich needs to let his coaching staff get on with it and stop meddling. Chelsea did well under Mourinho until Roman started meddling and sacked Jose. Now Ancelotti seems to be doing well for Chelsea and Abhramovich is at it again.

Van Der Vaart is very exciting to watch and i wish United had bought him. He was a bargain at €8m. I also think Gareth Bale has been like a new signing for them. Another player i wish played for United.

Holloway i can take or leave to be honest. He is only in the premiership five minutes and is already shouting his mouth off. I do think he will be hard done by if he is punished for putting out a weakened team a few weeks ago though but if he keeps banging on about referees, he's going to find himself hauled up in front of the FA sooner rather than later.

As for Hodgson, i would give him more time. Whether it was Rafa or whether it was Hicks and Gilett, their squad doesn't seem too good at the moment and needs a few shipped out and a few new players brought in. Basically the new owners need to invest a nice few quid in the club and think about the new stadium. Having said that the one or two players that Hodgson has brought in since he took over seem a bit out of their depth.

While United are not playing fantastic, i don't think we are playing badly either. We are back to defending very well and still scoring goals. I also honestly think that those people who think Rooney is still playing badly need to get their eyes tested or make sure they are not watching a dvd of a game earlier in the season. While he isn't scoring, he could have scored a few yesterday and he did set Berbatov up for one of the goals. In fact he has quite a few assists season. As long as we are still winning then I won't worry about Rooney not hitting the back of the net too much. As long as he persists, the goals will come. Its about the team, not just one player. Arsenal are still in with a shout but i honestly can't see them being any more than nearly men again this season. They have some very good players like Fabregas, Nasri and Arshavin but they seem to lose momentum after Christmas which i think will happen again.

My top 5 and bottom 3 are as follows

1. Man Utd
2. Chelsea
3. Arsenal
4. Man City
5. Spurs

Relegated, Wolves, West Ham and Wigan.

Not me anyway. He signed a five year deal, he's settled at United again, he's getting things back on track with his personal life so i think he is happy where he is. Why would Rooney do United any favors by signing a new contract just so they can sell him at the end of the season? That just doesn't make sense dunno

If he let his contract run out, he would command a higher weekly wage from one of the big clubs because there would be no transfer fee. It wouldnt make sense to sign a new contract when he could make more money for himself without one.

I've been sorely tempted to put a bet on Chelsea to finish outside the top 4, because you'd probably still get good odds if you bet on it now, but the way Chelsea are going at the moment it is far from impossible.

I agree, Vinny. The sacking of Wilkins clearly had an effect coupled with a dip in form for Terry and a few others. I think this is all being compounded by Abhramovich's meddling again though. He should leave team affairs to people who know what they're doing roll eyes

Well to be honest with you I'm not sure its Abramovich. The only time I can recall him getting involved was getting rid of Mourinho and believe it or not, I agreed with that decision. He was moulding the team in his own likeness and they were not making any friends. I understand they were winning but winning aint everything dunno There is such a thing as the beautiful game and playing a sport...........Not lying cheating and messing around with peoples safety.

Yeah I can see Rooney leaving. Fergie can say what he wants in press conferences and twist things to suit Man U but Rooney got what he wanted and I for one could not blame him. There may be a deal done, especially if they win nothing.

Seasons greetings bud cheers
