bestbefore: Hi Christmas I feel your pain! I want to lose weight before undergoing major surgery in March.Fat chance if you'll excuse the pun
FAT chance I am having surgery in early January. I am pretty damn sure I will lose a few pounds after surgery. (not the intent of the surgery). Best of luck to both of us.

taxidiotis: I havent smoked for 11 weeks now and my only regret is that i didn't do it earlier.Wish for everyone to quit
11 weeks...it is a good start...you ain't done yet. lol. I found when I would be sitting watching TV...my left hand would move over to the side table as if to pick up a cigarette. I would have to remind myself "Oh yeah, you don't smoke anymore". I would dream I was smoking. Wake up, and be upset because I thought I had actually smoked a cigarette. It took a good 2 years for that craving to go away.

Good luck with the Op. Trouble with mine is that I will be immobile for 6 weeks so my long walks with the dog will be sadly missed.

I gave up smoking just over 9 weeks ago after I joined a gym and realized just how out of condition I had become. I used a fantastic hypnotheropist who totally took away any craving and need that I had for to smoke in one session. I do not dislike the smell of fresh ciggy smoke and I will never become a boring hypocritical ex smoker. But personally I know that I will never want a smoke again.
Christmas1: So true Larry. I quit 12 years ago and it was because I wanted to. I would only get mad at people who said "You shouldn't smoke you know".....like duh don't you think I know that stupid. Well that's what I wanted to say to them. But I would say "I know, I know" and smile. But I did manage cold turkey. Finally have no desire to smoke, but that craving took years to go away. Now I am trying to diet, which I find hard, cause you can't stop eating!!!
Yes Christmas, Many times it does more harm than good, to press someone, ONLY THEY CAN DO IT... My Best on loosing the weight, and My Best on your Surgury, stand strong, and My Thoughts are with You...

Hi thanks for sharing.I too had hypnotherapy, went off course and had another dose but it actually took 4 years before I finally stopped.By that time I just went cold turkey. Good luck and hope it works for you.

I'm presently a smoker, and have been (again) for the past ten years. The reason for the (again) is that I stopped smoking when I hit 23,stopped drinking, and started going to the gym and exercise classes up to 3 times a day, and stopped eating junk food! After 7 years of this, I realised that enough is enough, I want (not need) a cigarette blah blah!!! So now, I want to go back to Thailand next year, and in order to find the funds for this, I have to stop smoking again, to save the required money. So next week, I stop smoking!!
