I just joined this service on Monday. Really, I am just looking for an intelligent conversation. Despite this, I would really like to have some responses. Will anyone be brave enough to converse with a Canuck?
Convo topic: What do you think of the Kyoto Agreement as it relates to personal transportation issues?
I am 100% on favour of the idea, but I'm afraid the execution of such a resolution is a bit more complicated than the concept itself. Sustainable bus and metro routes don't just happen over night, and in places like Northern Canada, where things are so spread out and cold (7 months of the year) with current developmeant and technology up here it is necessary for some people (especially in rural areas) to own personal transportation vehicles.

Social Studies, this place is filled with Canucks. Lemme see now, well, there's me, for one, then there is Starlite, and Baldy, oh, I am sure there are others, oh, I don't know. But nobody seems to care whether you are British, Canadian, American, Australian or whatever. We don't have lots of whatevers.
Personally I think we kinda missed the boat with the Kyoto agreement. The time for it was back when it made economic sense as well as environmental sense, back when oil prices were skyrocketing the first time. Now, well, agreements are all very well, but if we can't afford to pay for them, it isn't going to happen. If by any chance we can, then I am all for it too.
It isn't the Canuck thing, for sure. BTW- What's a Canuck? Is that a nickname for Canadian? See me rush off to the dictionary site, filled with glee that I get to learn something today. Thank you! As for your topic, I have to agree, I think we missed the boat. Such systems should be everywhere it is remotely feasible, as we are perhaps seeing now, "a day late and a dollar short."
I agree.Have been in so many third world countrys... And we are the biggest polluter, well China is a close second and the Russians... Be Well, jr:bye:
Ah BTW, us French Canadians are not Canuck. We are either French Canadian PeaSoup, or Frogs.
Oh, the Kyoto agreement. Well, it is just a bone to keep the masses quiet. As long as there is money to be made, the big corporations will not take action to protect the environment.
Asking Nicely.............................. PeaSoup???? I know several french words. Crosaunt(sp?) Parly vou ,and escargo which I think is somthing to do with insects...Be Well jr
So cute. Ok, I can be your second online wife then. You seem to be getting used to those islamic customs; you have been in Iraq too long.
Yes, Pea soup is one of our traditional dish. Made with a hambone, it is delicious. But you have to cook the peas without salt first before putting anything else in there. Otherwise the salt will prevent the peas from getting soft... Onward...
Croissant is a French pastry, very popular dipped in coffee or hot coco. Parlez-vous means 'Do you speak', it is generally followed by '...anglais?' as in 'Do you speak English?'
Escargots is a French dish. We don't eat them much here in Québec. They are snails, cooked in bouillon and served with garlic butter. They have a very earthy taste, chewy like rubber. The only good thing about snails is the garlic butter, lots of it, yummy. But snails are not insects as you might already know. If you want to eat insects, you can come to Montréal and go to the Insectarium. Every year, they have an insect tasting event. They make chocolate dipped crickets and earthworm cakes, insect chips, etc. etc. Lots of fun and quite tasty, they say. But I have never tried it.
yuk, snails, insects (is this true?) OK we want all your natural resources, will trade BC for Arizona and Nevada! Lets keep the peace, just do it!! It is a fair deal, Be Well jr
