all i can say is that you are very lucky to be having a stomach ulcer in 2011. my father had one years ago and he spent the best part of a year in hospita;. he as a huge scar downhis abdomen and he had to get his stomach widened to 3 times the size. i say stay away for acidic stuff. just watch your diet.

Have you been tested for helicobacter pylori? Kill this bacteria and the ulcer may just go away...it worked for me.

Oh and just a side note about nexium.

"Thomas A. Scully, head of the Federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid services also criticized AstraZeneca for their aggressive marketing of Nexium. At a conference of the American Medical Association he went so far as to suggest that Astra was using the new drug to overcharge consumers and insurance companies. "You should be embarrassed if you prescribe Nexium," he claimed, "because you're screwing your patients and you're screwing the taxpayers." An AstraZeneca sponsored study showed that 40 mg of esomeprazole provided more effective acid control than 40 mg of omeprazole"**

No he didnt test me for that at all,i know that the bacteria causes ulcers, but i think due to my age,the doctor may just think if we can subside the amount of acid im producing,i will be able to heal the ulcer.Fingers crossed. As for the price of the drug nexium,i paid 60 euros for 28 40mg tablets and 14,20 mg tablets. dunno

Infact, water is the only thing giving me any relief when i do get a pain,i think it must be dissolving the acid and cooling the area in my stomach with the ulcer. thumbs up

Seems strange you weren't tested, in fact the treatment is more effective with younger people around your age, but I'm sure your doctor knows best.

Best of luck anyway.thumbs up
