and a lot of people also have a view about step mums and their resentment towards the step kids.
ie: not enough me time, the step kids are to blame, I should be with him not his kids etc, etc...
in my opinion, some women are just selfish and unrealistic of the demands and juggling the dads have to do to work at these things.
Other women who have kids the same age seem to think this is great, the kids have new friends to play with and another adult to interact with now. These things are only hard to work out if people make them hard.
The beach walks are something the kids love to do, hey, getting down and dirty in the sand can be fun building a sandcastle.
Sitting in the park under the trees while your kids are knocking themselves out on the play equipment can be relaxing and there is time alone to talk intimately.
Yes we work, yes we run the kids to sport events and yes we entertain our kids when we go out to markets, we may pop some skates on and do a few laps at skate world, it's not that hard and it's good for your health to have fun.

Your kids have their own life’s too live, other than feeding them and supplying a caring environment, there is not much you can do other than be there for them?

I feel all parents 'parent' differently, all parents have different relationships with 'exes' and different expectations of a partner and their children...and a partner's relationship WITH their children.
Relationships with a person with a child is all about communication of expectations and negotiation. The main issue I have is that some people introduce their date to their children far too early. The child's age and maturity needs to be considered.
Some people feel fine dating those with children...some do not. If people are up-front about their kids and expectations early on, and open to frank discussions along the way, I feel relationships have a chance.

Hi all. I have a 2 y/o son who mostly lives with his mother...and of course I want to date!
I've found that alot of women are fairly narrow minded when it comes to a guy with a kid ( basically they wont even give you a chance). Personally I think it works well as I can be flexible with when he stays etc.
Becoming a father has made me a way better person in my opinion. Even before I had my son I dated women with children...no issue for me. If you like someone or want to get to know someone you just have to make the effort and be a little open minded and patient.

If that's the case, I think you may find it difficult finding dates then as most guys have kids either younger or older.
I have dated guys with older kids and guys with young kids and it's not an issue with me, unless they had heaps. Have actually enjoyed going out with guys whom have kids so I don't really don't have an issue with it but then again, I love kids.
More of a issue to me if they don't have kids or have never had kids, because I think then, you are on a different wave length.

everyone is different and everyone has preferences.. some people avoid people with kids because it makes their life easier .. some peopel only want someone with older kids so they are not such an issue (in theory).. some people dont mind either cos they have kids themselves or they want more kids or they just dont care cos in their minds the kids are not their problem or for whatever reason
it would be easier for me IF I wanted to date (which I dont ) to meet someone who doesnt have young kids or has kids who are now adults like mine are because of my age and because I'm not the cougar type I dont go for toy boys so I am not likely to wanna date someone with little or young kids

I think my 2 girls would make gorgeous flower girls for a future wedding, lol.
I am one of those people who believe that kids need to learn that adults need time together and its not all about them (kids).. adults need to make kids realise that they (adults) have a right to be happy and the partner is just as important.. as someone said.. kids grow up and leave.. the partner is around after that ... lots of relationships fail because the biological parents of the kids allow the kids to get away with murder and talk to the step parent like crap sometimes and with no respect... in that case the step parent (or girlfriend/boyfriend) has a right to be pissed off and feel resentful
families work because of mutual respect.. not because the kids grow up thinking its all about them and what they want comes before anyone else
