There is something I have been wondering about for a long time:
When i walk on the street I generally look at the people that walk past me, no matter whether it's men or women. As far as I can remember men usually look at me too. But I would say 90% of all women do not look at me. Now I'm not Brad Pit but I'm not ugly either so it can't be that. I'm not small either and I'm sure it's not because they don't notice me. I'm quite sure they deliberately avoid looking at other men. I can think of a few reasons for that but now I though i'd ask: why do you avoid looking at guys on the street? Strange question maybe but i want to hear your opinions :)
I live in Mexico so making eye contact or smiling at men will be taken the wrong way. Other than that I always acknowledge and say hi when passing on the street

Stilettos!
Gotta concentrate on the paths, a stiletto heel in a crack and we're on our asses!
I don't know why other women do it, but I can tell you why I do. Actually, mostly I do look everyone straight in the eyes, but if I am in an involved relationship, I prefer not to look at other men. I don't want to see what else is out there, as if I am shopping around....that is my only reason.

I like to look at people
Actually people watching is a hobby of mine. I do it all the time, in airports, on the bus, standing in a queue........just about anywhere.
Its quite interesting and mazing at times what you can pick up on and learn just by silently watching humans go about their everyday lives totally unaware at times for some that they are being observed.

Its loads of fun too....I just crack up at times
OYA Im a people watcher...I always go to the airport early cause I love to see peeps when they re-unite.
Ccincy: I have peripheral vision and can be looking staright ahead and can still see someone.
Just because women aren't falling at your feet doesn't mean that they're not seeing you.
hmm... falling at my feet is another thing. i'm old enough to know that tastes differ.
but personally i have this urge that in public areas i want to look at everyone. and unless i deliberately control myself not to look i do. i can't be the only one with that feeling... but does pride play a role in it as well sometimes maybe?
