Some points to look at are not just what is in front of u now,
to leave your culture & rellys behind, after a wile they start to matter more than one thinks,
there is no nice evening in a country pub with the fiddles playing, it is a totally different way of living,45c - 111f is a normal hot day, u can't touch anything, the roads melt, tar runs across the road with gravity, skin cancer is the highest in the world, melanoma's are very common, & one can kill u in a week or so, there are day when u can't move from the heat, if u haven't seen it, u cant imagine it.
Food is very costly, electric is set to go up by $600 a year, on the radio national this morning, 2/2/2011,
Water is restricted on a daily usage, hose pips will & are band by most councils, & water will be very costly,
Health care for the aged is a joke, mental health is none existent,
If u worked in Australia & developed a mental illness, you may get a pension, but u cannot return to Ireland with that pension, unless u have done 30years of service working in Australia, go into the finer point of different scenario's, & ask questions,
one scenario !! a Irish man is killed /dies, or, he ends -up in a wheel chair, this happens on the weekend, he's been working in Australia for 12 yrs, he's got a mortgage/car loans/personal loan, the wife needs help from family, the kids are becoming a problem & she can't cope,
If he lives, pension can't be paid if he leaves the country,
if he die's she is stuck there, her pension can't be paid if she leaves the country.
Best of luck....

jaw drop

It sounds a lot worse than here in my opinion but maybe I am biased. Everyone has different ways of looking at the world.

I'm not one to generalise but all men have to wear hats with corks around them and practise words like...strooth and G'ddaey! And all women have to change there names to Sheila.

Hurling and Gaelic football is banned and your children have to learn the national game which is called Wom. This is played with a wombat!professor
