Merriweather: Yep its distance, but more importantly...Getting a Visa to live and work in the northern is hard... Firstly I'd need to find a company to sponsor me there... and at my age... I dont think its much of a plan..

Secondly, I'd have to be giving up the security of my job.. and that certainly is not a plan.

And if you say that I am difficult because I think of my position in employment foremost... then sorry, but without money, you slowly become a nuisance to yourself and to your host..

A good point. As a financially independednt female, it would be really life changing to be financially dependent on your new man, even for just a wee while. I would at least want to be employed as his housekeeper, or summet. batting

Distance is a problem, better off sticking close to home.

You can't get to really know someone if they are hundreds or even over a thousand miles away.

That's been proven many times over, even for people on this site, that such a premise is not necessarily correct. Lots of factors come into play. Ask jlw nd Leighgrin

I've done the long distance thing. It doesn't work.Seeing each other 5 or 6 times a year will kill a relationship. Most of the time you never see them so you are off living your own life and getting on without them and they are doing the same.Telephone calls and webcamming is nowhere near as good as actually spending time with each in real time.

Absence does not make the heart grow fonder,it makes you forget,it makes you grow apart.
