Some of the music I listen to sometimes may change my mood.

As in making me happy or sad.

suppose it could just mean I'm open minded.... but with most people being focused on one genre it's a bit strange.

It does make you open minded if you listen to different genres of music. My children who are teeangers listen to everything because they have been force fed by me. In saying that, I also appreciate music that they would ordinarily listen to, well most of it. You are not strange. You are unique.

I think that the genre of music certainly not shows someone's personaity. Being a musician myself and playing many instruments, I can switch from jazz, to rock, classical, Indian music chinese music. All is a matter of tastes and experiences but it has nothing to do with personality.

Limiting your musical tastes is akin to eating only plain, boiled turnips, every day, for your entire life.

Anyone that says...

"No, I just can't listen to anything "country", or "metal", or "rap", or "funk", or "hiphop", or "classical" or "progressive/blues/numetal/country/hiphop/thrash/rapcore/funk",,

,,,,,,is BLIND, or rather, deaf...

For every "genre" that I thought "wasn't for me", there was at least thirty "masterpieces" that simply blew me (and my ears) away.

Anyway,,,,, no sinister, ... don't worry about the range of music you listen to, or maybe, in the future, the music that you might create.... (I'm looking forward to hearing your stuff)....

If someone doesn't like you for your musical taste, they need to throw away the grand total of 8 albums that they own and play. over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and pry open their third eye (ear).

Music is all over the place, there is no way you can listen to every bit of music that exists in your lifetime. Keep searching for the music that hits you dead center in your very being, live your life and be happy with what you like. Share it, but don't be offended if someone doesn't like it, they may not be in the same place in life that you are, but that doesn't mean they aren't a potential partner, after all sometimes, just sometimes, opposites do attract.

i am inclined to say "nope"...

the music one chooses to listen to is the best indication of their mood in that moment, not of their personality as the whole...

on the second thought...

my answer is "yepe"... laugh

there would be the prevalent trait in the different kinds of music we listen to that could be an indicator of passions...something that is always present despite the different music types
