solsticemoon: Is that really all we are about..do we always "jump in" with helpful/unhelpful advice.
Reading the threads of late, it seems so many people are easy in their critism of others....is this just down to intolerence, lack of understanding, or are people really trying to impart their own outlook on things.
Rightly or wrongly, folk will always have their own point of view...but how many are able to see things from all angles, and, if the argument is a good one, will your perspective change accordingly?

I don't know that it is intolerance; I think its just someone's opinion. Problem is we take it personally and then it escalates into an arguement as we persistenly try to convince the other to take our point of view. I think its just nonsense personally. Much like everyone tryng to convince me that I need someone in my life to feel complete which I find is a joke. yay

I used to think upon entering a thread that one should have an open mind. I liked to pretend that I was in my 'right mind' if I made a post but sometimes, I came out of the thread in my 'left mind' with the conclusion that what one needed was to have a mind in the first place...but then again, a mind, like most other concepts is relative, just like sanity...
Reading threads in any search for any truth is useless, as Truth is just as relative also; besides, why waste time trying to discover any truth when you can so easily create it? Now that is mind boggling! That is my judgment ...grin

When someone post a question or ask for advice then they are inviting all sorts of answers and opinions. Some they may like and agree with and others not so much.

What is helpful or unhelpful advice is subjective.A different answer or differing view point is not necessarily meant to be mean or unhelpful.Others often take another's disagreeing with them completely personal and become offended, but that is their choice. It is possible for adults to disagree and still get along without taking a differing opinion as a declaration of war.
