Sure it does. I can't stand extremist activists no matter which way they are leaning.

I believe in live and let live. I'm not going to be happy with a woman who's constantly trying to tell other people how they should live their lives.

So, yes, her political views and how strongly she holds them are indeed important to me. I see almost every issue on case-by-case basis. I would view a partner who takes a blanket approach to issues as basically being an air-head and impossible to communicate with. Why would I want to get involved with such a person? You'd either be constantly arguing with her, or constantly having to say "yes ma'am" just to appease her.

Give me a down-to-earth woman who wants to focus on OUR relationship. If she wants to run the world let her run for president!

You'd better believe it. I'm not into politics, but anyone who is a die-hard Repblican or a GWB fan would be like mixing oil and water if they were with me.

Well this is true too. Anyone who thinks that GWB represents anything that remotely resembles an intelligent human being isn't even worth trying to talk with. He is the number-one worst enemy of the United States of America in all of history!

Gee pretty Judgemental bunch huh? Nothing wrong with people having their own political views. I think it's a good thing to have one.

Abra I wish it was a live and let live world, I couldn't agree with you more. Everyone has their F---king noses in our business and lives these days. I for one am sick and tired of it.

to a point, yes...they are important. maybe i would say...that it's important to share certain ideals...some of which just happen to be covered in politics.

i don't have to agree with my partner on everything, in fact...it makes for lively debates, as long as he is capable of actually debating it with me and not turning it into an argument.

my husband was one of those rare types, and so far, so is darryl. i mean...he's atheistic, and i'm catholic...and we have many political differences and such...but so far, they have just been lively debates that stimulate us both intellectually.

Not so much "judgmental," per se. It's just that I've had it up to "here" listening to how "wonderful" and what a "saint" GWB is. It's enough to make you throw up. I sure as hell don't want to spend the rest of my life with a man who thinks that way. And especially not one who takes every opportunity to praise him specifically for the purpose of pissing me off.

I like to live my life in relative harmony. I can tolerate differences so long as people respect each's other's boundaries. And that doesn't happen very often, especially with regard to matters people deem very important to them, like religion and politics.

In addition to not being a very political person, I'm also not a religious person, but I am a Christian. So, no way I'd live with an atheist Republican Bush fanatic. LOL.

Why worry about him. He'll be out of office soon and they'll have some other idiot in. Perhaps one that can speak more clearly.

Hmmm. Maybe I should run for politics. My motto would be, "We will not stand for this" and then go lie down in a nice fluffy bed."

thumbs up

I was in a relationship with an Orange County Republican (I suspect this is the worst variety?) for almost two years. We got along just fine, and respected each other's opinion, or at least it seemed that way.

I remember when Rush Limbaugh was losing his hearing (no one knew it was due to Oxycontin at the time). She thought this was terrible, I laughed, and said "well, it's not like he listens to anyone." Uh, we made it through that situation - somehow grin
