venusenvy: Sure there are folk who do that. But I also think some women are just born with a lot of testosterone and masculine qualities. Ive met several "butch" (if you like) with naturally deep voices, but its more than just that. Its mannerisms and just way of being that seems to come very naturally to some gay women.
Yeah, I agree there, too. Nature/nuture, there is always an indefinable mixture of the two.

EagleWoman: May be ... Not sure ...
Some gay men I know have a sort of "camp way" of moving which I don't feel was learned.
There were also 2 students in the school I worked at, a brother and a sister. She was already tomboy/butch like at the age of 11, and he was efeminate already at the age of 11. It's like they'd swapped genders. I met the parents (parents evenings) and noticed the mum was not very feminine, which could account for the daughter's masculinity, but that leaves the son without a role model for his femininity
We have many influences and role models, not just our parents.
As I said to Venus, I don't think you can really seperate out nature and nuture.
