L1977C: tescos have a machine you just take the receipt up to customer services and they give you notes

But they charge you a commission.
You can take it into a bank or just send the jar in for your car tax laugh

I wouldnt use on of those coin counting machines out of principle. Think it takes 10% of the total for the pleasure!
Also...think the bank would probably charge you something for taking in all that coin?? Used to when I was a banker?!!
Best bet would be to go into a few of your local retailers...esp pubs etc. My guess is that they'd be delighted to take it off your hands...in full bags now...as the bank in turn charges them for the coin. A win win situ I'd imagine for you and them!

baldydude: local shops are always happy to change it for you as they get charged by the banks for the change they get of em for the tills

i'm lucky nouf me bro-inlaw has a fast food joint i'm sure he'll change it for me no prob

Your local post office will take it in once it's been counted and put into those little bags that you get from the bank. No charge.
