Sam_131: Matured is the wrong word. We were never immature. We had cause to be pissed off.
we have "moved on" is the correct wording.

I hardly think Irish people being upset of the deaths of hundreds is "immature"
And what are you.... 3 and a 1/2... It a sign of maturity to progress past, past wrongs against you... The Queen NEVER reigned over Ireland... DO you believe that the germans of today are responsible for the holocaust.... So i'll stick to my educated words and you're entitled to your opinion

xxmissuniquexx: There marching down my road already shouting 'What do we want? The Queen out' etc, sure shes up in the park stuffing her face, the IRA shop in Parnell Square is blasting out the rebel songs, I smell trouble, hope I get back from the school run with my lil 1 in 1 piece, nearly tempted 2 collect her a bit early

News says the numbers of protestors is small so you should be safe enough. Mind you I'm in Galway so it doesn't effect me! hope there's no trouble for you!

It's great to see the crazies and the fanatics driven mad!

B its just the small number of bigots mate same as always uneducated fools who still live in the past i do laugh when they on about the royals and the six counties. Its has nothing to do with the royals she only a figure head of state and cant past laws to give Ireland back it up to the British parliament to do that. Not only that but its also up to the people in the North of Ireland whether they want to be part of the republic which many of them don't.I was out there other nite and even my friends were saying that they want the six counties because Ireland cant afford them at the moment with our economic downfall i honestly think we will never get the gun out of Irish politics.

Agreed, on a purely economic basis, millions will visit here from the Commonwealth countries as a result of her visit... on a higher level than that... She the head of state of our nearest neighbour, where 6 million people have at least 1 irish grandparent.... thats a close bond and link

Did the Queen not reign over the hunger strikes up the north? How about 37 years ago TODAY when her forces killed 30 Irish and injured 300 people in Dublin and Monaghan, pick up a history book. You don't sound educated to me.
It's not about her reigning over us it's about what they did.

How about when she reigned when 7 year old Irish boys and girls up the north had bottles of piss thrown at them for being Catholic trying to walk to school through a protestant street!!

If any of those were your relations you'd probably feel abit different.

But like you've proven, you're not edudcated in Irish history.

I welcome the Queen but I am a republican.

And you are entitled to your opinion but the cheek of you to call me uneducated for giving mine.

Due to the examples i have given about what happened to Irish during her reign makes your holocaust statement void.

Speaking of maturity, calling me 3 and a half? Real mature.

Pick up a book on Irish history and then come back to me, until then i wouldn't lower myself to speaking about this topic with someone who has no respect for other peoples opionions, or their country.

Oh and just to be clear, i personally want the Queens visit to go according to plan i think the past is the past and we need to move on, the English are not our enemies.
It will be a great day for us both if everything goes well.

But I think it's disgusting how little people seem to care about the past.

It's not about her reigning over us it's about what they did. The English government was responsible for the armed forces, and the Dublin/Monaghan bombings were carried out by terrorists

If any of those were your relations you'd probably feel abit different. My relatives were killed in the troubles, and injured in dublin's Talbot st.

But like you've proven, you're not edudcated in Irish history.I would very much doubt that

History is something to learn from as we move forward, we should be aware of it but also leave it where it belongs...IN THE PAST...

Everyone knows the British security forces -the Queens- security forces colluded with the UVF during the bombing.

The actions up north were of protestants DURING HER REIGN over them.
No monarch ever physically commits a crime so that was an idiotic thing to say.

As for you saying your relatives we're killed in the troubles? I suppose i'll just have to take your word for it, but i'd imagine you'd have more sympathy for those who died if that be the case.

Oh and, adding stuff to my sentences doesn't prove your education, all you have proved is that you're arrogant and you think you know more than others.

Because people who are ignorant of the actual fact of history, as opposed to the versions given in schools over the years, or worse tainted by the bigotary of family and parents who idea of history is one sided are for the better part MORONS... For an educated opinion you need to read ALL SIDS of the story to form a balance opinion... There's an abundence of infrormation and knowledge available for anyone to read and learn if not to dumb or lazy..IMO

And our own taoiseach, Mr C Haughey was a gunrunner with blaney and co... Many people reply to a posting that way to address each topic raised directly... As for my relatives half my mother family are from Belfast and two died directly as a result of bombings...

On another note the IRA nearly killed me when living in london in the early 90's...... The "Struggles" are more about money, drugs and business than any form of nationality... of course if you were as clever as you think you are, you'd know that already
