Right with you on that. Regardless of what happened in the past, it's time for everyone to move forward and QE2 coming here is a very big step forward and who knows how many doors it could open for both country's. thumbs up ireland

The ordinary Irish person on the street, and their English counterpart will for the most part be non-political as regards the 'national question' (whether or not Ireland should be united). Regardless of what has happened between the two countries in the past, if I meet an English person and I get on with them, am I going to hold it against them that our countries had a less than friendly relationship in the past? Hell no! Views may differ on the political end of things regarding the north. But I take people as I find them, regardless of where they're from (even if they're a northern protestant). I reckon that any rational person would feel the same.

I have done, plenty of them. A good friend of mine is actually a nurse in the Mater Hospital in Belfast. She's a protestant. But her religion doesn't determine who she is in my view. Are there bad Ulster protestants? Oh undeniably, but that's not the point. There are bad Ulster Catholics too. Why should one judge someone else purely on their religion/nationality? Isn't that a bit narrow minded?

I don't judge them on their religion the fact they need to march down the road and celebrate william of orange victory over the french army in the 16th century. They are unionists, they hate catholics and they hate republicans.
