Billy6456: mmmmmmmm...another day...and none the wiser!!!

Why not just take off on your own. You will meet plenty of people on your travels.

Never limit yourself, you might just miss out on one hell of an incredible experience.

Get going and dont wait around wasting valuable time.
cheers

Must admit it sounds fantastic... best idea and one I may do in 5 years time (if single etc) is pick a point in the world and get a rough idea on how to get there and just go... if time allows to take the scenic route take it... also try something different overland it in a jeep or bunch of motorbikes. I had an idea with a friend for 2000 which was to fly to Sydney and then buy a pair of motorbikes and ride round Australia to Perth and if time allowed ride back to Sydney. Didn't work out but was a great idea at the time... As a biker I look at it this way point the bike in a direction and see where you end up... I have plan that I want to do like ride the Pacific Coast Highway in the Americas all the way from the Top to the bottom... or vise versa... Find something outside what you normally do and go for it... And best of luck to you cheers

lifeisadream: Travelling is the most marvelous experience one can have in life, that is for me.

Once I have had my children out school (with their degrees) which was my priority number one, then I did start travelling.

It can be done alone or with friends and no matter the gender. Besides you will meet many wonderful people and you will keep comunication with them.

And yes, take a camera with you, double battery and enough memory.

One life is never enough to see the world.

Have a great and safe journey!
thumbs up

Sounds like a recipe for disaster.

Make sure to take plenty of good video.
You can make it into a horror film afterward.

MMLCC...dreaming,possible ? how serious are you ? What you are considering...I had the same thought in 1970..I was then 20....you are now ?don't let that stop you...
How long you wishing to travel...months ?
How far...europe,Asia,Americas..?
Decide one region.....
Finances...cheap...ok,but do you still have financial commitments while travelling....
Going walkabout might extend the crisis...?

Just some thoughts Billy....Do it !

Gidday Konti'...thanks for your reply mate...regarding your questions...!!!! whatever!!! just follow my nose!!! The cheapest destination for me to fly to at the moment would be Singapore..although I don't thinbk it is that cheap there compared to other Asian countries...but it is at least connected to Asias mainland!!..I need companionship at the moment to gain confidence..thats the only problem..dunno

G'Day Billy, hope you read this I'm a bit late to the thread.
Here is one idea if you want to work while you are travelling, my brother & sis-in-law did this in Europe and had an awesome time. Look up WWOOF International, it means Willing Workers On Organic Farms, basically you go to stay on someone's farm, they give you board & lodging and you work in exchange. You learn heaps and get to meet some great people, you can also have a say where you go & how long for.
Good luck mate, hope you go for it!

Impossible is nothing.
9 years ago,a Chinese student who studied in UK travelled around the world. He visited 28 countries of 4 continents in 77 days, but just spent USD 3305.27 totally.Later he wrote 2 books, one is 3000 USD Traveling Around The World, another is How To Get 40 Countries' Visa. His travelling experience include: the airticket from Brussels to London only cost 8 cents, the 5 stars hotel in Las Vegas is only 20 USD for one night.
But his book is only in Chinese,I could not find an English version.
In present time, information is wealth.I think lots of preparing work is waiting for you.Good luck!wine
