DagostoKnoxville, Tennessee USA74 Threads 15 Polls 3,076 PostsI went to a liquor store to buy some wine. (Here in Tennesee wines are only available at liquor stores.) While I was there though I also bought some whiskey, vodka, tequila, and amaretto. I have no intention of drinking any of it. And I don't plan to open a bar, either. What was I thinking?

I do that, I always think it would be nice to have a sip of that...but then I never drink it...I have a house full of booze stocked up now over the years. About the only thing I end up drinking is a bit of wine. I could throw one hell of a party at the drop of a hat though

Yet the only other alcohol I have is a small bottle of apricot brandy, which I sometimes have for an after-dinner drink...and it's only about half-done after 2 years or so.
I think maybe I had in mind that it's a homey kind of thing, to have some liquor available, just in case I entertain guests...but tequila? Amaretto?

I do that all the time with cooking utensils, you know like a whisk, spatula, spoon with holes in it, ladles....I don't cook!!

Dag, you could make a "Daggotto". Here is a recipe. One shot of whiskey (is it Jack Daniels?), one shot of vodka, one shot of tequila (without the worm), one tall glass, crushed ice
Place the ice in the glass 1/2 full, then add the shots from above. Pour in 1/4 cup of wine (white preferably), 1/4 cup of ginger ale, Sprite, or 7up. Shake don't stir. Then top with two cherries and a spit of amaretto. Find a good movie, sit on the couch, and sip slowly.
You will never know what hit you.

I've done it at supermarkets too. I get home with a week's worth of groceries, and I'm putting them away in the cupboard, and...smoked oysters? What the hell did I buy those for? Sun-dried tomato pesto? Huh? The cupboard's already full of weird stuff like that. Some of it I don't even know how you're supposed to use it.
