My time being single I have taken the time to become happy with me!! I can say I have not put myself out there to meet anyone because i wasn't ready. As for now I am not really looking but if it happens I am ready to have a relationship!!!

I have to admit...in the 6 years i have been "separated" i have gone through various stages...
I find at this time i am truly content to say that "i'm not looking" however...I'm still waiting to be "found"...lol

What is this distance you speak of? Is there a mark? Each person is different and so will be their limits I suppose.
I have not lowered my standards. They are based upon my experiences, so if anything, the bar has been raised.
The lengths, sound again, like this distance you speak of. My happiness is not based on "meeting someone", but rather what I accomplish and fulfill in my life. The "meeting someone" would be nice, but I do not "base" my happiness on it...

I think i might go with the name Andy..even if the dog is a female...the she was given is Andromeda...and that just seems too much for a dog...what do you think?

In regards to the topic of this forum, I believe i have not put enough effort into meeting someone...but there is no one to blame but me. I have gone out of my way to meet some new people..now we remain friends (always a good thing to have friends close and far away)...and as for lowering or raising my standards....they have changed, but I don't believe my standards have been lowered or raised....
that's what i thinking as well...think I will go with it....
Over the last few years I've learned to be happy with myself. Which makes it so much easier to be by yourself. You don't need somebody around all the time. Which makes me think I'm ready to be in a relationship. I wont confus that anymore for happiness but it will add to my life. Because of this "learning" expierence I've raised my standards. I wont settle but I'll be true to myself. When I do meet somebody I will put the right amount of effort into the relationship.

You said exactly what I wanted to. I have learned to find "happiness", if you want to call it that during my (rather long) period of no relationships, I never took the time before, I always looked for quick fixes, 'band-aid' solutions, instant gratification. When I had my daughter I had to reevalute my life, decide what it is I wanted, focus on her and my goals. I learned to be happy in the moment (and appreciate those moments), and not base my happiness on any man and how I felt when I was with him.

For some its an easy road...for some a road full of pot holes...but regardless if the end results are what you want...then the road was a route well travelled hmmmmm???
the road can be very bumpy - but dont lose hope - go gal keep looking dont lose heart.
