I've noticed that when I click to reply to a thread and a green rectangle shows and there's words that in so many words that say that that particular thread is locked cause it's too long how is it possible for someone to contuine to post in it?

CS will normally cut a thread off at 1000 comments. If we want to continue a thread, we post a part 2.
Locking threads:
CS does this so that they can review the comments. Usually someone has complained and they review the thread at their weekly meeting. They decide then what to do.
When someone also complains about a thread, CS will not allow us to comment on the last page without a warning about whether you think that the thread is offensive. We can then go back to a previous page or comment in the warning.
Sometimes they decide to eliminate a thread entirely.

Hi john I think you're cofusing my question with when the mods lock threads.
I was just puzzled about how come someone could/can still comment after seeing that it's locked because it's reached it's page limit. My question wasn't in relation to the mods locking one.Of course someone will probably accuse me of being sneaky again and hiding why I'm really asking.
I'm not sure what you say about who the Mods are. I believe that you are talking about the far left Liberals that are frustrated about Conservatives on CS, and try to block conservative viewpoints.
I thought some threads got locked because they say extremely obscene things or they contain a lot of arguing. I think a lot of the people who were forming cliques and picking gang wars with other cliques are gone now. It also seems like there are way less obscene trolls or they get thrown out faster. I know because people used to post stuff to try to shock everyone and get everyone screaming in seconds. There used to be a new one several times a day. Now you hardly see that. So, if you post something political that is inflamatory and there are lots of arguments that may be why it got locked.

They are winey people. I may be wrong.
Anyway, time to watch a Baseball game.
Had nothing to do with the mods john.
I saw someone post in a thread even tho it stated it was locked becasue it was too long.

I think she means this! _________________________ This Thread is locked because it is too long
In order to maintain efficient operation of the Forums, it is necessary to limit the number of posts per thread. You may create a new thread with the same (or similar) title to continue discussion of this topic.

Some have said there is a page limit, but I understood the limit was 1000 replies, which could be more or less pages depending on their length. However, if you search "All Threads" and re-sort the results by Replies, you will find quite a few with more than 1000. Most of them are "Get-Together" threads, but not all. "Zionist Occupied America" shows 1014 responses. Several others have 1004 or 1003. The message I saw when I attempted to post to the "Say Anything Thread," which had just reached 1000 replies, said the thread had been locked due to the number of replies (I can't recall the exact wording). So possibly when a thread reaches 999, a flurry of near-simultaneous posts can all sneak in at once.
