I very much agree with Jason and on many more levels.

I see the veil as a way to undermine women and our country.

If you have such strict beliefs do not live here, don't be trying to put our country back in the dark ages.

peace devil

I wrote about this extensively on another thread . Vail is a product near the end of a production line . Components of this product needs to be examined and anything conflicting with freedoms as we know in the free world needs to be removed from it . The Islamic teaching regards women as 1/4 of a man . In the holy Koran itself in Al-Nessa Surrah gives specific instruction to punish a disobedient wife both physically and mentally and these are being promoted in Islamic schools as the only acceptable rules in an Islamic society anywhere on this planet .
At present 7 women in Iran are awaiting a review of their Stoning To Death sentence . I urge those women whom support Islam to spend a couple of time married to a man in Afghanistan , Iran or an African country where practice of Islam is 24 hours , compulsory and permanent . I need to get off the net but have a look the other thread .

People should be free to do as they please but where it puts up a barrier to say teaching or maybe a doctor talking to a patient it can be very very difficult and therefore I think they should out of respect to their pupils or patients remove the veil. I used to teach English as a Foreign Language and I depended strongly on watching facial expressions to assess whether a pupil was comprehending and I couldnt do this with someone wearing either a veil or sunglasses. We express ourselves with body language and facial movements and it is so important to building a relationship and trust.

Just heard an item on the news this afternoon and someone was saying that the veil should be banned when driving because some of them leave very little room for peripheal vision - would have to agree with that one I think.

But we would not be able to recognise you if you did . Would we ? Perhaps it should be made compulsory for men and women to wear full hijab ' veil' . Let us ask the Cabinet to appear in public all covered up wearing full hijab . Now , that would be a blessing wouldn’t it

Let me explain .. Wouldn’t John Prescott look more attractive covered up ? What about former Foreign Secretary ? And present Home Sec. .. ? and under there .. wearing satin swimwear .. Wouldn’t' that bring back colour to bunch of ugly , boring and incompetent lot running the country ? May be not but it will make the news more interesting .. For many .. Over here and over there .

The sad truth is that most men and women wearing such outfits are born and brought up here . How was it for British children’s identity to be hijacked in this way ?
Successive governments have allowed unsuitable people to set-up schools in this country and create a subculture of their own . People whom teach these children often can not speak English , have no familiarity with the western society and promote Islam as the only law which should be followed .
The Department of Education , social services ... etc have been sitting back ignoring all that . The Labour Cabinet has been running this country for over 10 years .. ask them why it was allowed to get this far ?

Dear Sunnystu , Britain is not s.. hole of a .. .We have a srious problems with education , planning and management in this country . If these are not put right we will contiue to decline . Issue of cultural devide is one of the side products of a declining society . People at the top are unable to function because they don't know how . If we were to send foreigners back , then this country will collapse at an instance . We are dependant on them for the Sunday morning bottle of milk and paper , cleaning the toilets at the coach station , to advance surgery in our hospital theatres . If a twenty odd year old British woman thinks that wearing a veil is a good thing , it is because her nursery , her school , her college , her university and her community convinced her that it was . .You see we have failed ourselves over here . Years and years of ignorance .
