Most people are other people. Their thoughts are someone else's opinions, their lives a mimicry, their passions a quotation. - Oscar Wilde

When i was young i believed i was invincible...things happened that made me realize my mortality...what motivates me now is that any "wasted" days i do not get back..and i only have the one time only deal on this life i'm living...

If i don't accomplish all the things i wanted to when my time is up..it won't be for lack of trying...

My motivation daily is to make sure "I" got the most out of the day that i could...wine

Unfortunately nothing motivates me anymore. I'm genuinely just waiting to die.

The only thing that could potentially motivate me at this point would to meet a genuinely loving woman. Unfortunately, I have extremely low faith that anything like that will ever happen.

I even tried volunteering for community service. Do you want to know what the ultimate rejection feels like? Yes, even the community isn't interested in my FREE service! What's the point in living if no one is interested in anything I have to offer? Why bother breathing air? What's the point? Being dead and breathing or being dead and not breathing? It's a mere technical difference.

James from experience all i will say is...if a man does not feel himself "worthy"..then who am i to tell him different?? Certainly he would know himself better than i could...dunno

If he feels he has nothing to offer me or a relationship...then i guess i would have to defer to his judgement...

I agree with you completely.

Now can you please tell me where I ever suggested that I am unworthy or have nothing to offer?

On the contrary I said that no one seems to be interested in anything I have to offer. That implies that I must believe I have something to offer, right?

You're right James you did not say that in so many words...and i may have interpreted what you said as such...but this is what you originally posted....

..."Unfortunately nothing motivates me anymore. I'm genuinely just waiting to die.

I cannot see where in there that you indicated that YOU yourself felt you had something worthwhile to offer a relationship...dunno

Motivation must come from within

"Unfortunately nothing motivates me anymore. I'm genuinely just waiting to die." you have to turn that around my friend.....the fact that you wake up each day should be motiviation enough.

You have plenty of offer someone. A shoulder to lean on, a kind word to uplift, we can all motivate others by being there for them and being the best possible influence on their life at that point in time remember this "to world you maybe just one person, but to one person you may be the world"

Don't ever give up!

Actually being in NOW, this moment, motivates me. I have no desire to wallow in my perception of the "past" and fear a "future" projected with my interpretation of that perception.
The time in Eternity is Always NOW. There are over 6 Billion versions of "Past/Future".

NOW is Great, Sharing NOW with a like minded Companion will be nice. In the interim I much prefer "alone" to aggravated.

I just want to give actual Love in NOW, for that is what am.....

love

When I posted this I had in mind the factors that motivate us to make changes, plot a course, set life goals...

... but after being felled by an inner ear disorder which made me violently dizzy (stop the world I want to get off!!!) my motivation this week has been to take baby steps and be content with them.

I get out of bed so I can make tea and toast with honey.
I shower so I don't feel grungy.
I do laundry because fresh sheets are lovely.
I boot up the PC in case I have mail. Nice note from my mom this morning.
I sleep because fatigue still has a grip on me.

I'll be back in bed as soon as the sheets are out of the dryer. mmmmmmmm... warm sheets.

Motivation to me is when someone is actually grateful when they get my help. you wouldnt realize how many people dont want our help when we as firefighters(,police, paramedics) show up to a call and have to deal with "what took so long, Why are you hear, Why arnt you doing anything(if you were watching, or at least got out of our way you waould see that we were).

Im sorry for ranting, just had a bad one need to vent. burnt my shoulder, come out and the owner starts yelling cause theres to much damage to his house almost like its our fault.

But to the point motivation to me is when someone is truly grateful when we show up, a simple thank you makes the difference between thinking why are we here and thinking "hey, maby i actually accomplished something today.

anyway ive bored you all for long enough lol. im out, later

My daughter was in a 4-car pile-up on Hwy 401 in July, some distance frm home. I had no way of getting to the scene but I was reassured by her phone call to say she wasn't seriously hurt and emergency services including the OPP were there.

A few weeks later there were 2 OPP officers in a coffee shop when I walked in. I went over to them and told them briefly that, although I didn't know who responded to Sarah's accident I just wanted to say thanks for the job you do every day.
