Would you date someone who stutters? I do stutter and it has been an issue since I was young. I have my good days and bad days. I want to get peoples opinons on how they would feel if the person they dated stuttered.
It wouldnt bother me. I would put myself in their shoes and realise how difficult it can be for them at times. I had a good friend who stuttered quite badly but once he had a couple of drinks, it went away. perhaps the alcohol effected a part of his brain, relaxing him enough so he didnt stutter.

Anyone who refused to date someone just because they happened to stutter I would consider to be a pretty shallow person.

No big deal here. I had a friend who stuttered through high school and part of college until she smoked a little maryjaneknee. She quit the smoke but never stuttered since. Probably unrelated. Just an observation.
I've dated a woman who stuttered. She always seemed embarrassed about it, especially when we went out. I've tried to tell her over and over that it did not bother me and it shouldn't bother her.
She broke up with me later on, telling me that I only dated her because I pitted her. I loved her and told her so. I was going to propose.
She was the one that got away, in more than one way. :(

I must relay that piece of information to my friend who is a speech therapist ... she will crack up at that
but as for dating anyone with a stutter ... no problem ... I talk so much no man gets a word in anyway ... but anyone who would find a stutter such an impediment to a relationship isn't worth the effort because there are going to be far bigger problems on their horizons with an attitude like that .... don't you find it does almost disappear when you are with people who you feel relaxed with?
Whether I am relaxed with people or not, I still stutter. It gets really bad when people try to rush me. Some of my exs thought it was a funny joke to tease me about it. I guess that has something to do with it, being self conscious. People don't realize I am the same as everyone else. Thanks!

This is an obstacle I face every day. Being judged as dumb, stupid, brainless. I appreciate all the kind words and to those who want to poke fun, put yourself in that persons shoes and see what it would be like. It's not fun seeing people write in a stutter, to me its very offensive, I realize that you are being honest, but you don't need to type in a stuttering fashion.
xxDandelionxx: No, I have no interest in what design of window covering they have. I have my own take on design and others are entitled to their own taste.
