About 4 years ago I got back together with my old girlfriend, we pretty much pickup where we had left off. We were together for about 2 years, but she kept on bringing up the past, all the bad things, never the good things from our past. So this brings up my question, if you get back together with your bf/gf, would bring up the past, or let bygones be bygones?

I would think it would be best to leave the past in the past, except maybe the good things..

If you decided to be together again you are giving your selves a chance to start anew, so past isnt needed in this new phase of your lives. wave

The highlighted words might be an indication of why the past kept re-surfacing. Unresolved issues with self AND jointly.

If both had resolved the issues internally, and picked up from where/who you were when you met up again instead of from you left off, may it would be different

dunno Just a thought ...

it depends on what happened in the past.
If you cared for eachother in the past
and you both see a future together
surely the past should be left in the past.

I tried this once.Met a guy 11 years younger than myself, stayed together about 5 years, then we split,as I told him to find someone younger.

25 years later we met up again. It lasted a year and again I broke it off. Some relationships are just not meant to be.handshake

If I even saw him on the street you can bet I'd bring up the past to remind him what a piece of ---- he is..

There's nobody from the past I'd be interested in getting back with other then my husband, who unfortunately is deceased...sigh

We should not ignore the past
We should put it in a textbook for refresher class

If we forget the past we could repeat the task
But we need to drop it at some point or there will be significant cost!
