imlost29: So, I'm a single mother of 3 wonderful children, and I havent had the best of luck finding any MEN that are truly interested in forming a real relationship with a single parent. When I do manage to find a guy that dont mind that I have kids, they end up being FREELOADERS. Are there real men that still actually exist and that are interested in meaningful relationships with women that have children under the age of 18???? So, its already been established that I have (at least) one strike against me, I live out in the middle of nowhere in the hot desert. (This is me burning up way out here) I still have feelings and want to be loved though

Personally I have been in love with my man who is also a single dad and I found it very interesting with the challenge of how he could spare the time with me in between his children and business. Thing is that you have to wait and be patience ... if you meet a guy, then the idea will be to come up with the 'agreement' and the willingness to work on the relationship together despite of children around (and others if any). Everything will fall down at the right time.

Sometimes its not the man who has to get over the single mum status. The rift can come when looking after someone else children what is the discipline line, should I as a stranger be allowed to take kids out, etc etc. Yes these things come further on down the line in a relationship. Also have to contend with daddy. is he upset at seeing another man on the scene. Is a very hard situation. I adore my kids and others we all have " baggage" in life and the older we become the bigger the bags. Time is the requirement for a good relationship to work. Its no good saying you like something to please someone when 6 months down the line you admit you never did.
Perhaps its time to find an oasis in a desert

It's sad that some men cannot handle being with a woman that has kids, and it's even more sad some will not even bother being with one that does.

There are real men out there who can and will though. Where they are I can't say and how many I dunno.

I've never had an issue with dating someone with kids, I mean my step-dad is the man I am proud to call my dad. It takes a special man to step in and fill the role of a partner AND a father figure. Any man can donate DNA and father a child, but it takes a real man to be a dad, whether biological or step. I think I am a lucky man to have such a great man come into my life and be my dad many years ago. It makes me feel good to hear him call me his son or his boy.

The example he set for me is one that I am proud to carry on if I meet that special someone to be with and she has children. I would love to father a child of my own, but I am confident that if I do not have that opportunity and I meet someone with children already, that I am willing and able to step into that situation knowing I can handle it.

Hi Guys ,

I'm a single father of a 21 yearold girl , 19 and 16 year old boys over flowing with tostesterone . Think again if I had any luck so far finding a partner . I'm 58 years old and all the women I meet are grand mothers for f?%k sakes. I would love nothing better to fond an understanding woman who I can relate to. Tough slugging these day , my friends.

Washington state has a weird law that says any guy that even DATES a single mother in Washington is financially obligated to take care of her kids. This is what scares so many Washington men from dating single mothers. So the single mothers in Washington complain that they can't find any men. Well, golly gee... My financial situation is such that there is no possible way for me to support a single mother with even one child. I'm doing fantastic just taking care of my child as it is.

I would assume this law has a set time frame in which a guy would have to be with a woman before such an obligation just curious to what it might be.

comfort
I figure you are deaf to?
I once had a def guy working for me and it was difficult to build even a friendly relationship with him due to my lack of sign language.
I would asume starting a relation with a hearing partner is virtually impossible unless that partner has hearing impaired people in family and knows sign language.
But know at least there's internet and I hope you will find your mate.handshake

defman: ...To me, I've learned that biblical woman are the most gem-like high quality type of women, and as such, they're not likely to fall into temptations with some strange men, play games, drink booze, and take drugs, and mess with your heads.

Yeah, I've been through hell, I've suffered. I will never do it ever again. I view people with suspicion and caution and I'm very careful...

Another good read from the Defman, but I'm going to put my shilling's worth in, if I may.

Do you really think that a "biblical" woman is the the only type of woman who can appreciate faithfulness? The two don't come hand in hand, you know and if you use arbitrary categories to make choices you both set yourself up for disappointment and run the risk of making choices on false grounds. Some "biblical women" might not be faithful, some "non-biblical women" might not be unfaithful.

I agree with a lot of that which you say in terms of a healthy, happy relationship and to me also, fidelity is an essential component of that, as many, many people do, but like many, many others I'm not a follower of Jesus, nor Christian, nor religious at all. In fact, I'm probably one of those feminists that you say you have no time for on you profile because to me feminism is the root of equality and equality is about treating each other with fairness and respect.
