no, no story behind it at all...whenever it comes on it always makes you feel good and happy..
its a song that is part of the joy of living, and absolutely everyone can relate to it.
i danced to this in the all ireland at mosney and won... it was my 1st time away from home on my own.
when i hear it i remember all the steps from the dance...
This song makes me smile because myself and one of my best friends Caroline used to sing it...on our way home from the pubs in New York...We got lifts home in the "New York Daily News" Van...in the "Wonderbread" van... I moved back to Ireland...I would often get home and have a message on the answering machine with her singing this..
Unfortunately Caroline died suddenly when she was 30 just a few years ago...but I still smile when I hear this...

Funny how you don't realise at the time what memories songs will bring back to you
A couple of years back I was minding my gorgeous wee nices...5 and 7 at the time...this would be playing in my car when I drove them to school...they are now 7 and almost 9 they visited me a couple of weeks ago and they heard this song on the radio and started singing it and said it reminded them of me...aaaahhhh...definitely smiled
Corny, I know, but myself and a friend were walking home in the snow one christmas (early evening drinks), singing this at the top of our voices, when we heard it being played on a piano. We backtracked, went into the house that the music was coming from, stood beside the piano and sang the song, said thank you and carried on our merry way
We never did figure out whose house we were in

has been done...hicThe Anfield rap is just funny and makes me nostalgic. I'm nostalgic for the second one because it was my favourite song when I was a smallie and it just always makes me want to dance. I tried explaining to my 5 year old niece lately after it came on the car radio that this was my favourite song when I was her age. She looked at me like I had 2 heads.
