TrueBlue1986: The problem really isn't how long we work, it's what work we do.

We work in call centres, the Chinese work in factories. Their entrepreneurs open superports, our entrepreneurs open pet grooming services. White kids study social and sport science, Yellow kids study real science. On top of this the West has a legion of pen-pushing civil servants to carry.

Loads of Westerners do work hard, it's just what we actually do that is pointless.

Excellent summary

I agree. Degrees in the social sciences are easy and worthless.

The leadership of Mexico is largely Spanish, as opposed to indigenous Indian, so I stand by my statement.

JAN_is: Yes, and I believe the average annual holiday leave entitlement is much less in the States too. How many weeks holiday do you get?

I do know people who work 50 hours or more here, and they don´t get paid overtime for it, but it´s not the norm. My contract is 35 hours a week, but with my private classes I do work more than that. I have to put a stop on most of the private work I´m asked to do because lately it´s getting totally unworkable, and too tiring. Unfortunately the private classes pay more than my school contractual hours.
I get two weeks vacation, five days for holidays like christmas etc... and five personal days and five paid sick. And it still does not seem like enough. sigh

AtwoZ: "poor" backr
grouand,-how the hell can they afford to get across 2 continents? You forgot something,-who´s gonna pay for these "poor" ones? What are they gonna contribute with?At the end of the road, there´s always economics, not pietism....It´s all about economy, can´t you get that?I don´t wanna pay for someone else, why the hell should I?
Exactly. I'm sure these humanitarians never consider that by taxing the hell out of us to pay for illegals, it makes it harder for us to take care of our own families.

I believe in some European countries vacation is mandated{if not all}On the other hand the mandate for vacations in the US is Government workers or unionized private sector......The rest of the private sector it is strickly "at will" of the employer.
I guess the bright side of this system in the US is the fact that we have the highest wealth creation per worker.....Computed as National GDP divided by the work force. Our GDP for 2010 was 14.7 trillion...while our work force is around 154.5 million....so strip out the unemployed, which would be about 14 million and you would divide the GDP of 14.7 trillion by 140.5 million net employed and you have approx 103,000 produced by each employee.....I did these calculations by myself, because the latest figures on this I could find was 2007...I will stand corrected if I`m off a smigen....rolling on the floor laughing

Largely. You don't see many indigenous people in the Mexican government.

Happygolucky4u: Exactly what do you see as straw man? That I do not agree we should be inhumane? That there is stereo typing and I dare to say it? Because I see people as individuals? That I do not pull web links from unreliable sources and copy and paste them on a continuous basis? That I prefer to get my news from reliable resources? That I speak more than one language? That I am not to lazy to press a number on the phone and make a language choice? Or is it that I don't agree with you?
Some are making the argument that this is about legal immigration-It is not. As for sources, who do you think is legitimate? Only those who agree with you?laugh You can play that game if you want to, but I haven't been brainwashed by a media intent on hiding the truth because of PC vanities.

freesparrow: Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, Lamar Smith, planned to offer a bill that required employers to use the E-verify program. This would help get rid of the illegals so Americans could take those jobs....REALLY???? Get in line, who is ready to pick oranges and cucumbers for a living?
The farmers were up in arms, stating that without the over one million illegal immigrants, their farms would have to shut down. He bent to their demands and instead has introduced the NEW guest worker program to bring in workers that would be on contract with specific farmers. What are we to think of this about-face? Could it be that we really do need this much maligned work-force?
The farmers will always look for the cheapest labor they can get. This article only verifies what I've been saying. When tomato farmers were denied cheap labor, they automated.

mustbnutz: And here comes Governor "Moonbeam"..............The latest......

By Greg Lucas

SACRAMENTO | Sat Oct 8, 2011 5:52pm EDT

SACRAMENTO (Reuters) - California Governor Jerry Brown on Saturday signed a bill giving illegal immigrant college students access to state-funded financial aid, the second half of two-part legislation known as the "Dream Act."

The controversial measure, which passed the Democrat-controlled

legislature on a party-line vote in September, represents a victory for immigrant-rights activists ahead of the 2012 presidential election. California is the nation's most populous state.Google it for the entire article............

Now I guess all that "Moonbeam" needs to do is get everybody "registered" and he will have another four years locked up.

BebeII: It all depends on if your job is in demand. Medical/Health care related fields are growing-for now...

While some of that is a necessity, it's not the jobs that "build an economy", or generate national wealth.
