Hi, Amenda wave

Hm.....during my PhD study I have been traveling alone all the time. In most cases I was going to unknown places and I was always afraid of everything blushing

This summer I was planning a short touristic trip to Greece but due to some reasons it didn`t happen - if I don`t have who to go with (and I do not moping ) I do not see problem with going somewhere alone.......just sitting at home will not improve my situation at all dunno

When traveling alone I could always change my plans or stay somewhere longer if I wanted without and discussion.

Amenda: Some people like to travel alone. Except those scientists who do their research, how can we understand those who travel alone?

I mean how can a lonely traveler can enjoy his or her trip alone?
What kind of people, with what kind of mind can enjoy his or her trip alone?

warm welcome your perspectives, thanks a lot

I often travel alone. I sometimes prefer it as I'm free to do as I choose. I'm a social person, and have no problem chatting to people wherever I am. So I never feel as if I'm actually in a strange place on my own.

So far, I've travelled around Canada, Germany and Iceland (which I highly recommend) alone

LOL, there are some of us, if we waited to travel with someone, we'd never go. My father never liked to travel and my mother said she always regretted not just going without him. Most of my trips are with groups and you do meet a lot of interesting people that way. Take the plunge, don't "wait" for anybody else. If you want to go, look into the clubs or church groups in your area. One trip just might lead to a few more.

same idea with you, I wish I could be a man in this caselaugh or....have you ever thought about disguising as a man?rolling on the floor laughing

In Chinese operas, there are always girls disguised as a boys to do this or that, very interesting...I thought carefully, it will not work nowadays because we have ID now, and no ID in old times

So you met a lot of people in the process, that should not be counted as "travel alone" I thinklaugh

We can see from the thread very less people like travel alone.

I admire those who like to travel alone and can still enjoy beautiful scenes alone, without any lonely feeling.

For me even thinking about that make me feel lonely. But if you are just alone, then you are just on the end of the rope, no other choice. just alonesigh sigh

travelling alone is as good as living alone, you can do what you want when you want, concentrate on tastes and impressions, you can also meet new people if you want to.
But I prefer to have a local "guide"-friend when I travel.

I travel alone and always have a place to go. There was a time in my life I realized if I did not travel alone I would not travel at all.
