Probably go into shock and die, never getting to even so much as buy a jollyrancher, then the next person to come along and find it, would discover the suitcase and a big intense grin frozen on the face of a dead guy desperatly holding on for dear life with a deathgrip.

I was in New Hampshire at the time and working in Andover, MA. I was up in Manchester, NH at a local store. I saw a woman walk away from the cash machine and after she was gone, I took my turn.
When I walked up to it, the screen read "Would you like another transaction" and was waiting. I saw a receipt and removed it from the machine. She had like 1600 dollars in her account.
I clicked "NO" for another transaction and out popped her credit card. I couldn't believe someone would be so careless. I went through the store and finally tracked the woman down. When I handed her the credit card and receipt, she said "thank you" and acted like we had just discussed the weather or something.
She didn't even realize what she had done. WOW. I pray to God that he always watches out for her and makes sure no one else will take advantage of her.

As far as I know, according to german law I am entitled to 10% of the value, if the owner would claim it. If not, after a certain time the whole amount would be mine. I once found a piece of jewelry and I got it back after two years.
Would I keep the money, I could not spend it, because spending a lot of money all of a sudden is suspicious, and I would risk to be prosecuted as keeping such a find is a criminal act. So handing in to the police is much wiser.
