There was studies actually done on this as to whether women were more attracted to guys who didnt use deoderants/soaps and those whom did, I think the findings were that the women were more attracted to natural body odors (obviously not the extreme dirty/manky unwashed odours) but the natural 'scent' that we all give off. Sure isnt that one of the ways we used to attract a mate?
I tried it one time, walking about a supermarket with my arm held up breezing closely by women, the only thing that I attracted was the security guard and he throwing me out the door!!
