We have one of these threads on the international forums...so thought i'd try one for just us ladies here in Canada...(products and such will be the same...some of the stores and products on the int'l site is not available to us)

This is where we get to do "girl talk"...we can discuss anything and ask any questions that you would if you were just talking to your "girlfriend"

conversing conversing hug

I'll start out...

This weather has been absolute hell on my hair...ugh!! and with curly hair it can look downright "frizzy" if i don't control it...anyone have any suggestions of a good shampoo or conditioner that would keep my hair smooth??

Also has anyone heard of Paula Begoun?? She's a consumer advocate for women and products available and marketed for women...

Sorry but for this one you need one of the other girls. My hair is straighter than straight. My daughters hair gets all curly lately and I love it, it looks really nice. Of course she doesn't think so and the sounds coming out of the bathroom when she is doing her hair kinda sound like frustrated & very mad .

Never heard of Paula Begoun... what kinda products?

ummmm...yep!!blushing

Paula Begoun "tests" all the products out there...from makeup to perfume to hair products...and every possible one that is available...she gives her opinion based on the tests run for it...so you can make a better choice about how you spend your money on these things and whether or not they are worth it...

Also if there is any "truth" to what the product claims it can do...

BTW...Just curious how other women handle meeting someone in person and deciding there is "no chemistry"...how do you let them know there will be no "second round"..of course in a nice way because if you agreed to meet them in the first place there WAS something there to attract you in the first place...dunno sigh

Sorry no help on the frizzy problem. My hair is straight. When it does get muggy and wet outside it does tend to curl a bit but nothing a hair clip or pony tail can't handle lol But then again its very rare that I have my hair down.

Maybe ask your local salon that you go to?

Hope you get some good tips!

As for Paula Begoun, never heard of her but I also don't wear much make up and cosmetics so that is probably why.

Well myself personaly I havn't had much of that problem. Normaly the man was the one who would run for the hills sigh But when I first joined I did meet someone off of here and we chatted on the phone and MSN quite a bit. We ended up meeting at Tim Hortons for the first time and I just knew (I had a feeling even on the phone calls as well) that it wasn't going to work. He was certainly not my type at all.

I was just honest with him when he asked me out again that I wasn't looking for anything serious. I didn't point out his negatives either. I just kindly told him that he wasn't my type and that I wasn't ready to be in a committed relationship at the time and wished him luck on his search. He did seem to take it well.

I think just as long as you are honest and not lead them on which would make things worse later on then things should be okay and if they freak out then obviously they have issues that need to be dealt with and at least you got to see their real side as well right?

It was me.... but I'm aware of it now and if it happens and doesn't change I can't continue to be in that relationship.

Good idea Wikked.. great way to get to know each other!

As for your hair.. sorry.. I dunno how to help you there.. I keep my hair short short short.. I have really fine hair so when it gets long it looks horrid and lifeless. I remember in my younger years using Joico products and there was this stuff that was good for "de-frizzing" hair. I don't know if Joico is even on the market anymore.

Paula who?

I've had dates where there just wasn't a spark there. I've been nice to them, talked to them about things but when the end of the night came.. I'd either shake their hand or wave goodbye to them. They usually knew by my body language that it wasn't going well.

In relationships with men, its always been me giving more than the other party gave. Which is why they always ended. I began to resent my partner and before long they were finding the door.. or I was.

Did I cover everything? laugh

It has happened to me before where I had to do most of the work and effort in the relationship and it just came to a point where I got tired of it and lost interest in the relationship and person and ended it. Well I of course talked to him about it thinking maybe things would change but when it didn't. I just let the relationship go.

When two people are together, a relationship should not be considered one sided. After all it does take two to tango right?
