Statistics can be made to make any point. Unless they monitored EVERYTHING the women ate and drunk during the whole term of their pregnancies, it's all a load of crap.

Yup, so it's all as much use as me claiming that if pregnant women were to only walk on the left side of the pavement, they'll have a boy.
All it takes is for one woman to give birth to a boy after that, and I could claim it as fact.

They would HAVE to have some form of control over it. They can't just claim it as is. As pointed out already, there are too many factors that would render it useless.
They would have to have women and their children locked in labs for years to be able to work that out. I can't see that ever happening.
