I don't go out much at all, and have lost everything - both friends and possessions - in divorce. I feel very lonely. I should go out and find out where all the English speaking people are at, but I am scared - what if everyone already has friend limit to the max :-P

Nah, go out to where the English speakers are, you never have too many friends, and you never know what could come of one of those friendships.
Maybe they hang out in Irish pubs? We have couple of them downtown.

Everyone who's anyone hangs out in Irish pubs...Irish people are the salt of the earth..
As for feeling award going out alone...simple just get a few pints of black down your throat and you'll soon loose your inhibitions..

It is difficult when you are on your own to be brave enough to go out and meet other people.but i think you are going to have to be brave and just chill out,or is there a possibility that you could get a job in one of these english speaking bars??Working in that enviroment is always great to meet people..i wish you luck

Look Brits are everywhere - I'm one and I live in Aus - firstly you need to start interacting both behind the scenes, using flowers and emails, then venture in the forums... have some fun, put your two pence worth, allow others to see your personality show through that way.... the fact that you have created a thread says you are ready to take the next stage, so take it...(for I'll aready know, you may have met your Brittish man)
